Hippies gone, band gone and the campground is quiet once again.

Where are we today ?
clic on a pic to enlarge it
Now after this busy weekend of Hippies and bands things are back to normal, most the people gone by noon and pretty quite around here now, just the way we like it. But it is summer and people like to camp on the weekends, not a problem for us we do meet a lot of very nice people here.
Shortly after 9 am we headed on out to the Pinery Flea market that we enjoy when we are in the area. Always something new to see every time we visit. Driving through Thedford Ontario we always pass the old house. Looks spooky and reminds me of the old haunted houses we have seen in movies.
looks spooky to me what do you think?
Now here we are at the Pinery Flea Market about to explore whatever might be here. Lots to see every time we visit. Just a nice country drive and not too crowded if we get here early.
huge sweet potatoes
love the old cars
excellent produce vendor from Leamington
Heirloom tomatoes
our favorite hat guy
want an old Moped? not cheap
the food court is always busy
Below is what we bought for a total of $3.50 Canadian, not a bad deal.
lots of Muskmelon all cut up
so nice and fresh
A much cooler day today than it has been so we just enjoyed some more reading in the shade for a while. Suzie went over for a while to help our good friend Gerry with planing his trip south this coming winter, kept them busy for a while.
I put together this wonderful refreshing salad tonight to add with our fish, sure did hit the spot for the recipe click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar.
The fish I picked up at the reservation not far from here, a while ago, frozen but fresh caught Pickerel (Walleye for our American friends), Only $10.00 a lb,  pan fried. was amazing as it usually is.
very tasty refreshing salad
pan fried on our Weber Q 1000
Grilled 1/2 lemon for a few minutes. Sure does make the lemon juice so very tasty.
added some melon and hit the spot
Glad that y'all took the time to check us out today and make a comment if the spirit moves you.

  1. Could you give us a little more information on how you do your fish on the Q? All the recipes I've tried on your site have been delicious, I'm guessing Fish Crisp, and olive oil? What heat setting on the Q?

    1. Thats right Roger Fish Crisp and olive oil, cast iron pan on the Weber on high, preheat pan on the Q at least 15 minutes, keep on high heat needs to be very hot, pan fry about 5 min a side until golden brown keep lid closed as much as possible. Drain on paper towels serve immediately.

  5. Love the peaceful days in between the weekends. Monday used to be the start of another work week and I much preferred the weekends. Now it's just the reverse. I'm always glad when others go to work and I don't have to.

  7. Sounds like you two have been enjoying some nice relaxing days. We do not mind the heat it is the humidity we could without but that is summer in the UP. We are now starting to experiences warm days with cooler nights which is perfect.
Reading your blog, and some others, is keeping us motivated to continue going through and getting rid of the stuff. Fingers crossed when we head out this year we will leave an empty house behind.
    Enjoy the heat.
