A nice quiet summer Sunday morning, bright, sunny but not very hot yet. Got my walkabout started early around 7;45 am.. Gotta work off all that amazing food we pigged out on yesterday at Pa Fest. After about an hour in town I spotted this friends car with a bumper sticker on the back of his 2 seater Smart Car. "Don't laugh my other car is a "Rolls Royce". I chuckled and walked another hundred feet or so and here he is hand washing a beautiful 1990 Rolls Royce Silver Spur in his front yard, another of Russ' Toys. He also has across the road and older Prevost motorhome he is planning to spruce up a bit and do some travelling with. Oh he also has a Motorcycle, dumptruck, skidsteer and probably more that I have not seen.

He was giving the Rolls a good hand wash and dry getting ready to take to the Car show in Woodstock today. Notice his license plate he may just rent it out as a Limo with him as the chauffeur for a date night or whatever. I am sure he will have a few takers.
The rear seat is spacious with drop down tables and foot rests. and real wood trim, sheep skin floor mats and real leather seats. This is the real thing! Now when he was all done cleaning he even took me for a cruise about town in this amazing automobile!I finally finished my walkabout town (couple miles) and grabbed Suzie so we could head into Woodstock about 20 minutes away for Summer Streetfest on the Main Street that has been running since Thursday.
We snagged a free parking spot on the West end of Dundas and walked the length 4-5 blocks about 400 cars to check out and store front sales, food vendors, music form the 50-60's. What a great day, and not too hot. Lotsa people and really not too crowded this morning yet.

Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this summer
Crikey ..... blokes and cars ..... I don't get it but I liked all the tyres. They're as good as trees for peeing on. Mum loved the churches and that courthouse she reckoned was something else. Just beautiful she said. Looks like you sure had a fun day.
ReplyDeleteYep Charlie you guys do like to pee on our tyres.. The churches here and old buildings are amazing I could wander about town for quite a while getting some great pictures of the amazing old buildings here.
DeleteWe did have a very fun day.
Your 2nd two old church pictures are the church where I went to Boy Scouts for many years!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful church and so huge too.
DeleteWhat a fun summer Sunday! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes Cheryl it sure was a fun day.
DeleteSome of those older cars are real gems! It's really fun looking at them. Terry compares all the new cars and says they look like eggs depending on who makes them. It's amazing the difference in price when they all like the same. Looks like you had another fun day.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun day, like most days in our house. All those old cars at least had some character and personality not like so many today that all look the same.
DeleteA ride in a Rolls....I am jealous.
ReplyDeleteIt was an experience one to remember that's for sure.
DeleteA fun day for you two.
ReplyDeleteIt sure was.
DeleteHad a chance to drive a few Rolls-Royces as a young lad, and they're everything you'd imagine. Wouldn't want to own one though, the tune-ups would be a killer.
ReplyDeleteI did not drive it but the ride was wonderful. Very expensive to maintain I would think though.
DeleteOh goodness. 400 cars. That is a huge Streetfest. Paul would have enjoyed that one.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun for me checking out all these cool cars.
DeleteWoodstock looks like an interesting town to visit. Love some of those old buildings.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny that your friend's other car really is a Rolls Royce!

Woodstock is beautiful. Gotta love the old cars, the "Cruise in" in Langley is due soon.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very beautiful town everything you need and not too large.
DeleteThe cruises I always enjoy.
Nothing like being able to back up a sign like that. Lots of fine looking old cars on display. Hard to beat pan fried trout.
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a great way to back up that sign.
DeleteThe pan fried trout was wonderful.
Sounds like another amazing day. Great cars.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun day as always, and love the old cars.
