New solar panel installed and enjoyed another warm summer day.

Where are we today ?

Another wonderful day here at "camp awesome", so peaceful and a nice cool morning to start off the day. What's not to love?
After a nice walkabout town for a while home to re-read the instructions to install our new solar panel. We had ordered it on Amazon.ca and was a pretty good deal, a 100 watt panel, mounting brackets and the proper wire to connect to our controller. Free delivery and and all taxes $260.00 Canadian. and we have it right here and now! That's what we wanted. Get it installed now.
We have had our 130 watt panel for 9 years now and sure does keep us charged pretty good with our 2 six volt trojan house batteries, but does take quite a while each day so another 100 watt panel will speed things up now we have a total of 230 watts charging our batteries. The battery capacity has been perfect but we would like to charge a bit faster and this should do the trick. mainly because I get up usually before 5 am and the sun is not  up yet. And we do like to boon dock in the desert, actually even in many other places as well.
The install was so easy, about 90 minutes pretty well all done on the roof. but fiddling with the controller and connections took me a bit longer. Mind you the hot humid weather slowed me down, but heck what's the hurry?
New 100 watt panel is the smaller
 one at the front
All done here early afternoon and then I hopped on the mower to finish the grass cutting only about and hour but now it's all done. Supposed to rain tomorrow so nice to get that out of the way. While I did that Suzie picked up our mail, visited with her Dad and brother then picked up our prescriptions in New Hamburg.
Now that she is home we catch up on the news with a cold refreshing beverage enjoy our e-readers for a while then begin to whip up supper.
Made a nice tasty salad while our Weber Q is preheating and grilled a couple of our favorite, healthy and gluten free Turkey garlic sausage. Gotta go to the market tomorrow and stock up on more Turkey sausage.
added some sauerkraut
and really hit the spot
That was our fun productive day getting things done hope you had a great one too.
Thanks for stopping in to say hi or take a peak.

  1. Good job on the mounting of the solar panel. That should really help with the charging.

    1. Thanks, we could put a lot more on the roof but really don't think we need it the one panel worked pretty good 2 will be much better, if we did more panels we would need more batteries.

  3. We have a roof full of solar panels and they do a pretty good job keeping us charged up in Arizona. I'm sure you'll notice the difference.

    1. Our neighbors with a new to them RV watched me install ours and were soon over to ask if they bought one, would I help install it. We should both hang out shingles.

    3. The wife is an awesome cook so I said for some beer and a meal, I would "supervise" and make the final connections while our friend and his son do the labour. LOL
