Starting out early with a wonderful, cool sunny morning but its gonna be a hot one. Got a few nice walkabouts done, then began securing our coach to hit the road again. Been here for 2 weeks and we really wanna go, cause that's what we do and enjoy.Did not leave until 10:45 this morning. We wanted to have showers before we left and have a full fresh water tank as well. But the water was shut off for a bit while they repaired a water main leak. No problem we don't have far to go. or so we thought. Two seasons here in Ontario, winter and construction.
Taking the quiet back roads we came across a detour by Thorndale. So we followed that, gonna take us to the east end on London, then Dundas st to Woodstock. Well another detour by pass Woodstock. So it it took us a bit longer but we sure had a nice scenic route, Some roads we have never been on and some many years ago. What the heck it was a wonderful country drive and all paved roads.
enjoying the farm country here and no traffic |
kinda roundabout but a nice country drive |
Molly is Buddies mum |
Well it was a hot humid day after setting up so a nice refreshing dip in John's pool. Sure is nice to cool down like that and again not crowded here at all.
this is camp awesome |
Buddy getting brushed |
Molly always likes a chin rub |
The roast only about 20 minutes or so 150f internal temp, and the corn until its warm 20-30 minutes, all done low and slow on our Weber Q 100.
Just added a salad, some sauerraut and some grapes sure did the trick and leftovers for lunches |
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and make a comment if you are so inclined.

I'm beginning to think Suzie is a dog lover... ;c)
ReplyDeleteLol,, Ya think?
DeleteSometimes those back road detours can be the best journeys ever. With a pool and doggies waiting - not a bad set up.
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice leisurely drive and saw some new scenery. And of course the pool and doggies is a bonus.
Deletenice to have a spot like that to go to
ReplyDeleteIt sure is we really enjoy it here.
DeleteYou sure have a lot of nice places to stay during the summer.
ReplyDeleteWe have to be Ontario for 5 months a year and like to move around, at least we have some nice choices.
DeleteGrowing up in Woodstock I've certainly driven some of those roads. Nice place you get to stay in Plattsville.
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful country side and love staying here so peaceful.
DeleteI used to hate construction delays, but after seeing the condition of our roads, I'm fine with road improvement delays, especially re-surfacing (I-70 thru CO needs it bad)
ReplyDeleteWe don't mind them when in our coach, and yes the resurfacing is really nice.
DeleteThe best part of retirement is that there is no need to rush.
ReplyDeleteSo true, Peter, best jobs we have ever had
DeleteHow good it is to have a pool to fool off in. Camp Awesome looks awesome.
