Hey it's COLD this morning ! When I got up at 5:30 inside the coach 60 f kinda chllly so I fired up our furnace for a bit to take off the chill. It was only 40f (5c) outside hmm. really feeling like fall weather. But the forecast says we having another heatwave this week, Ok yeah that's what I love..At 7:30 am headed to Pettigrew's Garage for service on our car, just an oil change but best to get that out of the way so the day is free. Home by 8:30 and other than a few errands and putter around not a lot planned, lets see what happens.
Just before noon Suzie's Dad called and wanted her to go with him to visit and old friend up by Milverton Ontario. He had spent many of his pre teen years with this lady and her family almost his second mum, who has just turned 100 years old lately and he wanted to see her again.
He picked up Suzie after lunch and they headed out for a nice country drive and visit.
While they were gone I took a 10 minute drive to visit daughter number 2, the boys were not there but had a wonderful visit with her. She does day care and the young'uns were having a nap.
Back home to begin cooking our ribs on the Q. Low and slow. Not long after I returned Suzie's Dad dropped her off about 3:40 pm then we got to chat for a while in the shade and she brought me up to date. Smelling the ribs cooking and enjoy some nice quiet reading time outside.
Before she got home I began cooking our pork back ribs on the Q in sauerkraut, for the recipe click HERE or my recipe blog top right side bar. I had picked up 3 racks a couple weeks ago on sale and for 15 BUCKS Canadian we ended up 6 meals with 3 ribs each and thats what we like to eat, what a deal !
after cooking in the sauerkraut then on the grill mat and add some with sauce and fresh asparagus |
tasty, light and filling |
Thanks again for taking the time to stop on by and hope your day was a nice as ours.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this summer
I learned to do ribs in sauerkraut from you, and they are the very best!! More happy summer days to come.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue the sauerkraut sure does make them pretty tasty and tender, glad you like them like that.
DeleteYes still more summer days yet to enjoy.
You have a great talent of making me hungry!!
ReplyDeleteLol, that makes this all worth while then.
DeleteSounds good, and we love sauerkraut.
ReplyDeleteI do too, but not so much Suzie, she does like when I cook with it though.
DeleteOur mornings have been cool too but we shouldn't complain. It's better to have them cool than hot.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the cool mornings in the desert which is just fine.
Delete60F sounds like great sleeping temperature.
ReplyDeleteIt is great sleeping temps, seeing as we can't use our AC.
DeleteThose are some amazing temp swings you're having there!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is but sure beats that white fluffy stuff.
DeleteWish you could share some of your heat with us. We are having a "fair" summer but lots of cloud and cool temps. Could always be worse though!
ReplyDeleteI am sure we have enough of that to share with you, maybe you should have visited you sister again this summer.
DeleteYes it can always be worse.
