Where are we today ?
This morning we secure our coach and headed off to Sicard Rv in Smithville about 20 minutes away. Climbed the mountain and were there shortly after 7:30 am. Checked in with service and our coach was in the bay by 8am.
We grabbed some free coffee and relaxed in the lounge with a large screen tv , our computers, e-readers and free wifi. I did a few walkabouts their huge lot checking out all the new and used rv's. Nothing that we like better than ours so that is not and option.

They have a large inventory so lots to look at.
By 10 am it was established we will need a room for at least on night. So we called our friends Larry and Marilyn Vanstone ( we bought our coach from him in 2006) and have travelled to Mexico with them and meet up a few times over the years. They recently bought a house in St.Catharines Ontario and invited us over for a visit, coffees and fresh made healthy cookies that Marilyn made.

awesome cookies Marilyn made |
So nice to see them again while we are so close, we had the complete house tour and it is such a wonderful home for the two of them and the kids and grands to come visit. Well we chatted and caught up and could have talked all day I am sure but, they have a handyman doing some work there today and Larry is his gofer so we headed on down the road a couple miles to revisit Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie, think its been almost 20 years since we were there.
|
there they are looking better than ever |
After a wonderful visit we headed just around the corner to the
Lakeside Park Carousel in Port Dalhousie just a few minutes away on Lake Ontario. Here we had a picnic lunch and had to have a ride on the Carousel, still only 5 cents !

Then back to Grimsby found a Chinese restaurant, cause we had a craving, and if we need to eat out we will take car e of that craving. Mun Hing was the place. So grabbed a menu and checked in to our Hotel.
The Super 8 in Grimsby was recommended by Sicards and we got a discount of $50.00 a night, but still was $79.00, but was handy for us. And the best rate we could find anywhere around. Nice clean room, indoor pool hot tub and great free wifi. We get the continental breakfast in the morning so we will take it.
|
relaxed for a bit and a dip on the pools, nice |
Then ordered our Chinese and had a feast in our room, perfect, just the way we like it.

You really had some day and it looks like it ended very nice. From the repair shop to the beach, the park and finally looks like you had a feast. That would be a good day for me except for the repair shop, of course.
ReplyDeleteWe managed to keep ourselves occupied for the day enjoying this wonderful hot weather.
DeleteLooks like you found good ways to spend your day awaiting.
ReplyDeleteWorked out pretty good in the end.
DeleteThat Chinese food looked so good I glanced up at the clock on my monitor to check the time ... thinking of an order out?? not in this small town at 11:13pm ... I'll hit their buffet tomorrow. Sorry to hear that Murphy is in your area ... hang in there.
ReplyDeleteIt was very good, we enjoyed our feast, now you can enjoy yours today.
DeleteOh! I do hope your bus is fixed in the promised time and you can get reunited with it
ReplyDeleteWe do miss our house, we feel lost with out it.
DeleteI remember when Super 8's were $8 per night! I hope they work fast!
ReplyDeleteI remember those too, and I remember when camping was $3.00 a night. Fast would be nice.
DeletePort Dalhousie looks so lovely. I didn't realize there was still anything left in this world that was five cents.
ReplyDeleteI love Chinese! Yummy.
Hope they get your rig done by Friday at the latest.
There is a lots of nice areas around here in southern Ontario. The Carousel is a very nice atraction and affordable too.
DeleteThey are aiming for friday, fingers crossed.
Hope you hotel stay is a short one and you'll be reunited with your home soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks we hope so too.
DeleteNot fun having to find a place to stay when your home on wheels is in the hospital, but it's something we fulltimers have to deal with every once in a while. Hope the repair gets done quickly so you don't have to spend any more time in a hotel.
ReplyDeleteThat's what we are hoping for, the sooner the better.
DeleteGotta try to make the best of it for you guys.
ReplyDeleteThats what we doing for now, enjoying a new area at least.
DeleteWe're hoping your rig comes out of the garage quickly and fixed up to roll without that Murphy guy hanging on to it. All the bet.
ReplyDeleteThats the plan, it's a hurry up and wait situation.
DeleteLooks like you know how to use your wait in' time and have fun. That Chinese food looks good, but I'm thinking your Webwe Q is every bit as tasty!
ReplyDeleteWe missing our Weber Q thats for sure, having withdrawal already.
