Not doing much today, just taking it easy, waiting to head south.

Where are we today ?
What's not to like about being here at Rock Glen resort? The weather is perfect, the staff is wonderful and the amenities just  great!
Cool morning walkabouts for a while then warms up nicely by 10 am. Shorts, t-shirts and all is good.  Cloudless blue skies, no wind or humidity either,  perfect !
Nothing on the agenda again today and that just suits us fine. Computing (setting up our computers, Suzie with her Windows 10 and me with my new Yosemite for my Mac ) Both are good just need to get familiar with them.
Now the afternoon is perfect, outside reading our e readers in the sun and the shade.  An hour at the amazing fitness centre (included in our membership here). Love the free camping too.
Then enjoy the great outdoors reading for a while.
Before we know it time to whip up supper. Easy one tonight couple Mahi-Mahi Burgers and sweet potato fries, done in our Fry Daddy.  Had couple of "white" sweet potatoes  So cut them into 1/4 inch fries rinsed in water to to remove that starch and drain in a colander. Heated up the Fry Daddy and fried for about 3 minutes. Drained on to a paper towel. Frozen burgers on the grill about 4 minutes a side. Fries back in the fry daddy about the same time. They were crispy (very crispy) maybe should have done for only 3-4 minutes instead.
Fry Daddy
Mahi-Mahi Burgers awesome,
fries ok but a little overdone
Tomato, lettuce and a tarter sauce I made , burgers were awesome!
A very nice relaxing day we had, thanks for stopping in.

Sunday, fleamarket, sunshine, reading, clean air filter, chat with a few people and a great supper, love it !

Where are we today ?

Well today is Sunday , the rain stooped last night, the sun is shining and not too cool. What's not to love about that? Now because we are here and its Sunday the Pinery  Fleamarket in Grand Bend is open today so we gotta go.
A wonderful country drive just to wander about, people watch and chat with a few vendors there, maybe even buy something too.
such a perfect day!
So after the computing, coffees and a few walkabouts left here about 9 am. Wander the market for a while. Not too crowded yet , just the way we like it. Picked up a new BBQ brush for a buck, one bag of pepperettes, and new cover for Suzie's I pad mini. Always enjoy wandering about here in the woods, never know what we might find.
Pinery Flea Market
lots of  nice fresh produce
antique rides for the kids
love this antique dragster for you car buffs
a Flat Head V-8
On the way back stopped by Juicy Fruit Orchards and check them out. Picked up a spaghetti squash and an acorn squash for 2 bucks and 5 lbs of Honey crisp Apples for 6 bucks, all this stuff is grown right here so ya know its fresh and very reasonable too.
We wanted a 5 lb bag of Honey Crisp  apples so the Lady hand picked a bag full for us right from this bin that just came in from the orchard.
we grabbed one spaghetti squash and
an acorn squash buck a piece
Now home before 11 am and Suzie wanted to down load her Windows 10 to her new hard drive (she loves Windows 10!) So this download was very quick  only about 90 minutes plus about 30 more minutes for updates. Her computer is up and running even better than when it was new, gotta love it!
My project was to remove the K&N air filter from our coach and service it. It came with the coach, is fuel efficient and permanent. Just need to clean it every year or so.
before cleaning
cleaning kit
cleaned and ready to go for another year or so
Then we can relax and enjoy our e-readers. Of course Tucker came by to give Suzie a kiss and get a treat.
Now I get to whip up supper. Turkey Garlic sausage, 2 cobs of fresh corn and a  jalapeno pepper stuffed with cream cheese. Add that to our salad we had more than enough again.
Sure did the trick, after a wonderful sunny day.
Glad you stopped in and hope your Sunday was a much fun as ours was.

Rainy, cool but we did get some computer fun done.

Where are we today ?
Rock Glen Resort Arkona Ontario
Would like to thank everyone for Suzie's Birthday wishes yesterday, we had a great day doing exactly what she wanted to do. And a supper that she wanted as well . It was an awesome day.
Today kinda yukky weather, cool , overcast and rainy most of the day. But no problem we have a plan for these days too.
Morning walkabouts with my rain hat then over to visit Gerry and Melinda's do some computing stuff. We shared info a few programs and really actually made a lot pf progress as well. Bonus too was we spent some time chatting and having fun with them on a rainy day. Suzie and Gerry mostly did Windows stuff and I downloaded the new free new operating system for my Mac now have OSX Yosemite installed and working great, so far.
But while trying to download my pics today in a hurry and I-photos was not ready think I lost  todays pics. No a big deal nothing real important. If I can retrieve them will post some tomorrow.
         Hey I found my pics.
Suzie and Tucker with his Rabbit toy
Gerry and me
Gerry and Suzie, Melinda in the back
We found a lot of fruit flies around, so set out a small dish of cider vinegar and in less than an hour look what we caught.
Time for supper so a couple Onion and Parsley Turkey burgers on the Q and a salad did the trick.
That was another busy day we had not going too far but getting things done.
Glad that you stopped in to say hi.

Somebody has a birthday here in our house and it's not me.

Where are we today ?
Somebody in our house has a birthday today, and its not me, guess who?
Cool nights warm days are perfect. The early morning walkabouts then a quick trip to Forest and check out the Farmer's Market. Its small but a few local vendors here. Picked up a quart of Local strawberries, just about the end of the season and they are very good..
downtown Forest Market  Fridays until October
some nice produce still
Back home for a light lunch, and cut up the tiny watermelon we got a couple weeks ago from of friends Chris and Bill's garden.
lots seeds but very tasty
Now today is Suzie's birthday and she can do whatever she wants. So reading, her favorite past time and a nice afternoon nap works for her. Me I wander about chat with a few people here and there and a hour at the fitness centre.
Then time for our Happy hour with each other. Of course people walk by and chat with us too while outside and thats just fine.
Tucker gave Suzie a birthday kiss
Choco came by to visit to but no kisses
After a drizzly rainy day off an on the sun came out this afternoon warming things up nicely.
Now for her birthday I offered to take her anywhere she wanted to go for Supper. She says her favorite place is right here. Wanted me to cook one of her favorite meals.  No problem we like eating at home and I enjoy cooking. So tonight I whipped up a Fettucinni Alfredo with sea scallops, escargot, garlic bread with cheese,  and a small salad. Add to that  a bottle of  Oak Leaf wine we picked up in California last winter for a $1.97 the whole meal (not counting desert) was less than $15.00. She happy me happy too.
Because it was her birthday she even let me wash the dishes too, gotta do it right ya know.
we had a feast
Desert a Black Forest Cake I picked up
Mind you we too stuffed for desert right now, maybe later or tomorrow.
Thats my Birthday Girl
Today was her day and we both really enjoyed it.
If you are friends on Facebook you would have seen here birthday today, she sure did get a lot of birthday wishes there.
Hope you had a wonderful day just like we did.
          Thanks for stopping by.

Now this is amazing weather for mid September. Picked up some new (smaller) clothes on sale this morning too.

Where are we today ?
Great sleeping last night, nice and cool, windows open love it! Early morning walkabouts and by 8 am warming up nicely. Computing all done, pot of coffee done, light breaky, washed the car and front of the coach then saw a flyer for Walmart in Strathroy, got some good specials on so at 9 am, we made the 20 minute drive to check things out. I need some smaller clothes, tired of most of them falling off me, from an extra large to a small. Sweat pants $6.77 and shorts $6.00.  Picked up a couple more items real cheap and took even more to the drop box in town, a bit of purging going on feels great.
Home by noon for a light lunch, read outside for a while (take advantage of this 83f weather while we can.) Then to the Fitness centre for an hour, sure feels good.
what a perfect fall day
clear blus skies likeArizona
A bit more reading then I can prep supper. Tonight a couple rolled pork Ribs that I made a while ago (The recipe HERE) and 2 in the freezer. So thawed out, added to a pan with sauerkraut and on the Weber Q for about an hour to warm up and heat through. Had also picked up some very fresh corn at a roadside stand. I just pulled the husks back, removed the silk tied back together with butchers twine and soak for 1/2 hour or so. Then on the grill for about 30 minutes turning every 7-8 minutes.
oh so tasty
Of course too much food so some leftovers for tomorrows lunch. Sure can't eat like I used to, and thats a good thing!
Outside again enjoying this summer like weather until around 8 pm, finish posting and a bit more reading. We just putting in time until we can head south.
Thanks for stopping in again and hope you had a great day as well.

More great weather and a couple doggie fixes for Suzie.

Where are we today ?
Hey we have another awesome day, not too humid and feels like 32c (89f) loving it! A few early morning walkabouts chat with a couple people then a quick trip to the store for some food stuffs.
Last night I boiled the bones from 2 chickens we had recently for an hour or so, drain off the broth and picked of any meat left on the bones.
looking good
the bones here
broth going in the fridge overnight
Back home from shopping after skimming any excess fat from the broth, I boiled it  for a while reducing it by almost half,(the flavor comes out) added some celery, frozen mixed veggies, onion, couple bay leafs, garlic, salt pepper, sage, summer savoury and a bit more chicken, then the last 20 minutes added some broad egg noodles and it was very tasty. Love homemade soup, I had a couple bowls and Suzie had only one but a chicken sandwich as well.
Still have one bowl left for me tomorrow's lunch
I puttered around outside for a while then an hour at the fitness centre here. Back home to read for a bit chat with a few people and Suzie got her first doggie fix of the day. Tucker and his mommy stopped by for a pet and a treat.
Tucker a good boy, waits for his
 treat on Suzie's knee
Then hugs and kisses
Now about 3 o'clock were invited to Ron and Lorees' up the hill for Happy Hour and of course visit with Freddie too, another doggie fix.
Freddie has calmed down by now
So we caught up with the gossip and home by 5 to whip up supper. Suzie can relax while I do my stuff.
Still amazing weather so tonight a couple Cod loins, pan fried in olive oil, with Garlic Butter Fish Crisp on our Weber Q. She loves the fish done this way.
2 minutes a side and perfect
Just add to our salad and we had a feast
Just another day always something to do outside. Still out here until almost 8 o'clock , getting dark early now and cooling down.
Thanks for dropping in again, nice to have you along.
