A wonderful productive, fun day.

Where are we today ?
Sunshine and a perfect warm day. First thing after morning coffees and walkabouts shortly after 8 am Suzie sorted the laundry and I took it to the machines here in the park. Nice, nobody here, got our 2 loads done and back home before 10 am.
View from the laundry
Then just whipped up a quick bite for lunch and I headed off to Adventures in Heat in Clarence New York. About a 40 minute drive. I have been stopping here for quite a few years to visit with the friendly owner George and stock up on my favourite Habanero Hot sauce "Predator" for me and my son.
a nice drive
Thats George and my sauces
his front yard
some very nice grills here too
Then eventually back home and chat with our friends Barb, Bill, Ron and Debbie around an afternoon campfire.
Some of our Neighbors are getting all decorated for this is their Halloween weekend here.
The staff here is busy raking leaves and cleaning up.
They the come around with their monster vacuum to pick them up and truck them away.
Its been a while since we have done a whole chicken on our Weber and when I saw a 5 lb one for $4.95 I could not resist it. So fired up our Weber Q preheated and turn to low, set the bird right on the grill closed the lid and about 90 minutes later done to perfection.
a little dipping sauce
Added to a salad and was wonderful. Lots leftover chicken too. I removed the meat from the bones and boiled the the rest to make a good soup base for tomorrow's lunch.
we do love chicken
Supper done then back to the campfire with a bunch gathered round, telling stories and chatting until we realized its getting late and pretty cold out, after 10 pm way past out bedtime. Time flies when you are having fun.
love the campfires we have here
There ya go a perfect day to begin our 6 months on the road.
Glad you stopped by for a visit, you could have dropped by our campfire too everyone is welcome.

  4. Adventures in Heat looks like a cute little store.
It has been a long time since I have seen people with coats on sitting around a campfire. Is winter really on the way?

    1. It is a cute store and the owner is very knowledgable with his spices too.
Not quite winter, but temps only in the mid 50's so makes it kinda cool during the day, low 40's at night good for sleeping.

  5. I'm probably one on the few, who hates the smell of campfire in our coach, on our clothes, and our bodies. I love getting together but just can't stand the smell of one. I think those propane ones make a better choice.

    1. We have a propane fire pit too and love it, but they always have a wood campfire so thats where we go if we want to socialize.

  6. What a great day you had !! Love all the pics especially the Halloween ones ! But I dunno about all that heavy clothing around the afternoon campfire ! I'd like it a little warmer than that.

    1. The hot sauce warms my innards, campfire warms the outside, works pretty good!

  9. Sounds like a good start to your winter adventure but you need to get further south to shed those winter coats.
