Where are we today ?
Thursday's posting:
After a busy Thursday and fun late night (this posting this is two days in one. )
Gonna be a rainy day but no problem for us, we have stuff to do. To begin, off to see our Doc in Stratford at 8:30am a nice 70 minute country drive. We both checked in with Doc, discussed our general health thats not too bad and stopped by the lab to visit the Vampire again, taking all our blood a bit at a time.
On the way back it rained and poured, not much traffic so could just take our time. Home by mid afternoon.

this be our drive home |
We puttered around for a while then headed up the hill to visit with Ron and Loree and check out their park model trailer. We last saw them last in Lost Valley Lake Missouri. Also Emile and Monique stopped in for Happy Hour.

Inside their house instead of the rain outside |
Back home to whip up supper and even took a quick picture of Rock Glen Falls across the road. We could hear the roar of the water with all of the rain that increased the flow today.

Left Happy hour and realized tonight is dart night at 6:45pm. So instead of cooking on our Weber Q, I fired up our oven to quickly make a very tasty dish, Maple Mustard Salmon (oh, so very tasty) check the recipe
here if you like. I added a rice pilaf and tossed salad to finish it off.

yummy |
Made it down in time to sign up for darts, paid our $3:00 each and were set to go with 15 players- 5 teams. We did pretty good winning 4 out of 6 games and three teams tied for 1st place. So the playoffs we came in second and won some big bucks, $2.00 each. But we sure had 3 hours of fun.

Melinda and Gerry, she is always friendly and was on my team. They are also Tucker's parents, you met Tucker the other day. |
|
remember Tucker ? |
Enjoyed playing darts here at the clubhouse but after 9:30 when we got home, just too late to begin a blog posting.

Dart night is every thursday night |
Friday's Posting
Was pretty cold this morning about 36f (2c) but our Mr. Heater warmed things up quite nicely. A few cool walkabouts chatting with more people here and there and watching all the campers arriving for the long weekend. Watching them set up is entertaining in itself. After yesterday's rain its pretty muddy around here, but the campground is filling up pretty good. Trailers and rigs getting stuck, kids running about having too much fun. Our first Canadian Long weekend this spring and and as quite often happens it is predicted cold and damp. But hey, they can and will do it, this is Canada and we take what we get. Only got to 10c (50f) today and not much sunshine so not very warm at all, we just add a few extra layers of clothes.

the valley outside our windshield is filling up |

maybe a dozen young'ns here in the playground |
Right after lunch another couple we know pulled in. Randy, Gail and their dog Hayley. Have not seen them since sometime last summer. Suzie has known them for years. Even before me!
About 4 o'clock we stopped at Emile and Monique's, for Happy hour after a nice long walkabout the resort. Once Gail arrived here from work they stopped over for a visit before time to call it a night and time for supper.
|
Suzie, Gail and Hayley, another doggie fix! |
Then got to fire up our Weber Q , grilled a couple homemade turkey burgers, and a very tasty loaded up salad.
|
so very tasty and hit the spot |
All wrapped up by 8 pm , too cold to sit outside so will snuggle inside nice and toasty warm.
That kinda sums up our two days here, some busier than others, but we just kinda go with the flow. Hope your days have been good too.
Thanks once agin for stopping on by and if you are in Canada enjoy our long weekend here
(Victoria Day). Next weekend our American friends will enjoy their
Memorial day Long weekend, hope your weather is nicer than ours. No matter what we will all enjoy it and remember to play safe.

A darts tournament sounds like a lot of fun. I would do terrible though.
ReplyDeleteWishing y'all a very happy Victoria Day.
I don't play very well at all but no matter we had fun!
DeleteWe sure have had a lot of rain here the last few days - complete with major thunder and lightening ! Poor Bennie is terrified of the thunder !!
ReplyDeleteI bet poor Bennie did not know what to do.
DeleteDarts sounds like a fun time! Haven't played darts in years!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have friends around...
As long as we can play for fun we enjoy it.
DeleteFood, Friends and Fun... you folks find it all!
ReplyDeleteWe are never at a loss of things to do thats for sure, no time read lately.
DeleteLooks like you had a real downpour of rain. You certainly meet a lot of people when you get back to Canada. Congratulations on the big dart win. You must be skilled in darts as well as in cooking.
ReplyDeleteNot that great of a dart player, but do have fun.
DeleteSounds like you've had two good days and a couple of good meals. I just can't get over how pretty your grass is - love those northern grasses. I'm amazed that you are linking up with friends you've seen throughout the year in such far away places - I guess that is another of the good parts of the full timing world.
ReplyDeleteThe grass is growing like crazy here.
DeleteFulltiming and travelling through our membership parks system (over 300) we are bound to run into some people we have met in the last almost 9 years.
Seems evident you are a dart shark. Good win!
ReplyDeleteYour temperatures could certainly use some heating up.
Darts is fun with the right people and we usually enjoy it.
DeleteHeating up would be wonderful and it will after this weekend.
Glad to see you can still have a good time even when it rains.
ReplyDeleteWe can have a good time no matter what the weather.
DeleteI agree, this long weekend is usually more prone to bad weather.
ReplyDeleteThat is the way it is, but today is shaping up pretty good.
DeleteIt must be great to travel around. Thank you so much for sharing, and warm greetings from Montreal.
ReplyDeleteWe love moving about!
DeleteWith those huge winnings from darts, you've just about got next winter's travels paid for! :cD
ReplyDeleteWe are working at it, not quite there yet!
