Looking for the sunshine that was promised ....

Where are we today ?
Up before sunrise, just waiting to see some of  that 20% sunshine the weather guesser talked about. Down south they have tornado watches, (too many of them right now), here we have sunshine watches. Keep watching for a few rays to peek through the cloud cover so we can quickly rush outside to see if its true ( vitamin D ya know)
While waiting for that we had George of M&G Portables drop by and pump out our sewage. He comes through town once a week for the portables they have (constructions sites) and will pump us out for only $20.00. We can drive to the campground 15 miles away and dump there for $15.00 plus the $20.00 for fuel, or we can drive 30 miles away for free dumping either way George is a good deal. We are good for 12 days if we conserve a bit but we don't mind this at all. We have access to water here (150 foot hose). We hold 75 gallons of fresh water and 90 gallons of sewage so works out good for us.

Once George was done I hauled out the water hose to top up our fresh water, in between raindrops still watching for sunshine. And by now its 2 o'clock. Predicting this possibility of sunshine failure I am going to makes some Puff Pastry Sausage rolls. Its been a while and they are one of our favourites. The sausage was on sale and I had the puff pastry in the freezer. And I had a  craving, soo easy too. Check out the recipe HERE.
good for a couple snacks
          Afternoon walka-a-bouts are wonderful
Then an afternoon happy hour with Leah, and shared a few sausage rolls, so nice that she has weekends off now.
But time for supper, still no real sunshine yet, just gonna dress up a nice frozen pizza we picked up. And I mean we load it up just the way we like it, and really they turn out pretty good.
As the Pizza was almost done we actually had some sunshine!   Kinda late in the day but we actually did see it, Not 20% like for the day time forecast (the weather guesser said) but hey, we will take all we can get.
A walkabout down the road was wonderful.
snowmobile trails for the winter
another trail
Ok we did have about 5 minutes of sunshine today. Not 20 % but better than nothing.

Now we been doing things and we were able to read and compute a bit,  still watching for the sunshine. Just drizzle, cloudy, windy not another nice day to sit by our Weber Q. This is really getting tough its been almost a week since we fired up our grill we are having major withdrawal. Wonder if they have meetings for "Weber Q Anonymous ' or a local support group?
had to be quick to get this picture
Now we had an wonderful day looking for sunshine and read for a bit too.
Thanks for stopping on by today. Enjoyed your visit.

  5. Looks like smiling George was sitting in sunshine while dumping your tank. It was on and off here on Saturday, mostly off until after dinner. Your pizza looks delicious!! It also looks like one I'd make because I love olives on my mine but Bill doesn't. Too funny!
Thanks for sharing your day with us.

    1. That picture of smiling George was taken last summer (file photo).
The olives are for me not for Suzie.

  6. We're on the road in Charleston, SC and would love to send you some of the warmth - high 80's here. Your sausage rolls look really appealing as does the pizza - we like to use that same method.

  7. The weather sure has been iffy. BUT, I'll take a cool breeze or even rain over having a tornado crash through the neighbourhood any day! Bundle up!

  10. Black water service at your door step is a pretty darned good service. $20 is cheap, cheap.....considering what it would mean for you to unhook, lift the jacks, drive somewhere else......etc.

The Ontario weather you are experiencing is sent only to help you appreciate the fine days while snow birding in the southwest US.

    1. We think the $20.00 is pretty good too, works for us.
We already appreciate the southwest, it could be a bit nicer here.
