A relaxing Sunday....and saw some cool birds..

Where are we today ?
Walkabouts this morning and a bike ride for a bit along Fulton Beach road for a short ways, but I did find it rather windy for an enjoyable ride. But stopped for a picture of the Copano Bay bridge and you can see the beginning of the 98 million dollar replacement that is underway. The existing bridge was erected in 1967 but has deteriorated so badly that it does need to be replaced even after some emergency repairs that have been done. You can read about hit HERE.
Even thou not a sunny day it was about 70 f and quite nice for a ride, (when I was out of the wind). Even spotted this large Heron a few feet away wading in the tall grass, looking for breakfast.

On an afternoon walk I spotted this Roseate Spoonbill wading in the pond not far from our site. Such a beautiful bright pink color it can be spotted from quite a distance. These pictures below were taken at full zoom (with my Panasonic Lumix point and shoot camera) from quite along distance away. As soon as I attempted to sneak closer it to flight.

Then  shortly after noon it began to drizzle a bit, just enough to keep us inside . No problem wanna do some more research and reading anyway.
While at the Snowbird Arts and Craft show yesterday we sampled some Gourmet Texas Pasta  The sample was Spinach, Basil and Garlic Fettucine and was so tasty and different that we just had to purchase a package. This is made with Durum whole wheat mixed with freshly ground spices and real vegetables. They actually have 33 different varieties so we picked another to try as well Cabernet Sauvignon Fettucine that did go very well with our bacon wrapped beef filets on the grill, fresh mushrooms, onions, steamed cauliflower and garlic bread/ w cheese.
excellent pasta
we sampled this pasta (awesome) and
will save for another day
Because the day was yucky and it was a sunday we found some movies on for sunday afternoon. old funny, stupid movies (Hots shots and Hots Shots" part deux") that were so silly kept us in stitches for most of the day. All in all was a wonderful day just hanging out with each other and some Sunday afternoon movies. Don't do that as much as we used to when we had to "work" for a living.
Soon time to fire up our Weber, throw on some mushrooms and onions in foil, whip up the pasta , steam the cauliflower, and heat up the garlic bread with cheese. And before we know it supper is ready!
Our Weber hard at work
Awesome tasty supper
Well guess what supper was Awesome! Suzie enjoyed it, I enjoyed it, the service was great and the price was right, even the wine was good too. Bonus !!
We did not have to go anywhere either.  Really love these kinda days.
Not much we need to do other than have too much fun in this pretty decent winter weather we are having.
Hope you had a great Sunday too, thanks for tagging along with us today.

  1. With the rain we had here today there is a chill in the air. By the end of the week the night time lows will be back into the low 40's. Still better then what is back home in Ontario today. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  2. Love seeing the birds but not so sure I would like to be out riding a bike when the wind is blowing. Well, it wouldn't be so bad if it was tail wind in both directions but we know that doesn't happen.

  4. I agree.....the Roseate Spoonbill is so pretty!

I like rainy days sometimes too just for all the reasons you mentioned! Reading, movies, napping, some of my favorite things to do!.....when I'm not sightseeing, walking, visiting.......life is good!

Hope you two have a great week!
