Where are we today ?
Last night was hot and humid, windows open, Fantastic fan running no blankets on the bed, and was so nice we had a great sleep. But this morning when the sun came up the rain started, forecast says 100% chance of rain. And they were right we had rain, lotsa rain 100% of the day right until6 pm. It came down in buckets just poured all day long barely let up at all. Occasionally it did slow down to a light rain but that was about it. But hey, sure beats the cold and snow (we keep telling ourselves).
This is the first year in seven that we have not headed to Arizona where it seldom rains. They have had cool weather and a bit of rain but at least they get lotsa sunshine. No problem we have stuff to do, computing , reading and always something to do.
We have had a surge protector in our coach for a few years now, but lately it has been giving us a problem. A small storm (power outage) and it does its job by shutting down but not resetting itself unless I disconnect it for and hour or so. We have also had problems in various parks with high or low voltage problems but have been able to monitor and manually disconnect before damage is done.
So searching for something better we found one on sale at Camping World in Hammond. This morning I drive there in an torrential rain storm and pickup up a new one that monitors the electrical wiring at the pedestal, like improper wiring, power surges and high and low voltage. So before any major damage is done we picked up this (worthwhile as far as we are concerned) Surge Guard and power protection device. Portable easy to install, hooked it up easy peasy, so far we are impressed.

Well not outside weather and not gonna BBQ so we thought we would try out Hunt Brothers Pizza. Made fresh to order at the grocery on the corner in town. No charge toppings (we had 7) and we picked up a few chicken wings to add to it. Not too bad (not the best but certainly not the worst) and the price was right.
Perfect supper for a rainy day. |
Not so hot and humid now and much quieter in our coach without the heavy rainfall.
We just gonna kick back and take it easy, maybe watch a movie and hope the rain forecast for tomorrow does not happen quite so much. Have had enough rain for a while.
Thanks for stopping in and taking a peak. Hope you are dry and warm out there, wherever you are.

We heard that you are more than willing to share the rain. Today they had a controlled burn get away on them. Forecasts show that it will start Wednesday afternoon and could go until the weekend but that will stop the risks of further fires. Be Safe and Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
You can have all the rain, thanks you very much. We have had a lot more rain this winter than any other year so far.
DeleteOur rain was much the same today, always nice when you don't have to go out in it. Took advantage of that same Camping World sale and bought a Thetford portable waste tank. Great deal and free shipping to boot!
ReplyDeleteI did go out in it for a bit, but it was a very warm rain.
DeleteThey do have some great sales going on.
WOW! That is alot of rain! Looked like a small lake behind your home. I know we need the rain, but I always dread having to take 4 pups out on rainy days! Thats 20 wet feet tracking in! Worth it though...I love my pups!
ReplyDeleteHope it's sunny tomorrow!
Don't think they need any more rain here, you are welcome to take the rest.
DeleteThat is not a pretty site at all. We woke up to ice we had to scrape off the windshield. That wasn't a pretty site either.
ReplyDeleteNow thats cold, we will take the rain, but a little sunshine would be good too.
DeleteHope you had some good books to read and lots of propane to stay warm.
ReplyDeleteAlways lotsa good books, and its not that cold. Our coach has a huge propane tank.
DeleteKeep that rain to yourselves please!
ReplyDeleteWe try but I think its coming your way!
