Where are we today ?
They still have the ponds here and apparently resident alligator, thou we have never seen this creature yet, (maybe someday!)
So it is soon time to take a quick trip and pickup a few groceries, tour around the fishing boats and stuff then stop at the H.E.B. (Here Everything's Better).

Then we can relax in the sun for a while before we have company. Friends from Ontario Canada, Rob and Pat, John and Barb that spend most of the winter here dropped by for a visit. We got to chat for a while and catchup. Then fellow bloggers Heyduke50 (On the road of Retirement) dropped in to visit as well, so we had a great Happy hour (our two). Meeting new people (that we already know, via our blogs)) and conversation just flowed from this to that all rv related.
Heyduke50 (John and Sharon) have been in Rockport for a month and are leaving the area tomorrow. They have been fulltime almost two years now. We almost met them about this time in 2011 when we were camped in Willis Texas as they headed out on their fulltime adventure from College Station Texas, but it was not to be at that time.( Actually Kevin and Ruth were in the area too) We have followed each other blogs for over two years and never met until today. It is so cool to actually meet real people that we have read about and never really met. Its almost like you know them. Such a supper couple, too bad we have to part but will no doubt meet on down the road again somewhere.

Eventually good things come to an end, everybody returned to their prospective campgrounds, as the weather cooled down. Saying so long for now and keep in touch via our multimedia society.
Now to wind down I fired up our Weber and dropped a nice chicken on the grill, couple a potatoes to bake and just whipped nice bite to eat. We do love our grilled chicken.
Just heated up some leftover canned corn, add a tomato slice, a chunk of garlic bread and a bit of our favorite Swiss Chalet dipping sauce (from Canada). so tasty and lotsa leftovers too.

Thanks for stopping by and if you are in the area drop in, in person, and we can get together too!

Glad you were able to get together for a visit with blogging friends!
ReplyDeleteNow that I have my new Weber, I'm going to have to try one of those chickens - they sure look tasty!
Yes it was a great day!
DeleteNo excuse now with your new Weber. Love our chicken done like that!
Yep, nice to meet fellow bloggers and RVers. We were in Rockport in 2006. Nice area.
ReplyDeleteI recommend to take a trip to Indianola. It's an interesting place.
A great time, thanks for the tip.
DeleteWe haven't tried one of those chickens on the Weber yet either. Going to make a point of doing that some time. Would be great to meet up with you guys as well at some point!

Love our chicken done this way. Hopefully we will meet someday on our journeys!
DeleteLooked like a great day. Glad everyone got to finally meet up. I didn't realize they had some Gators in Texas. Are those Banana trees in your cool campsite shot? Weathers cooled down here today from the 80's, a cold front and rain is moving in for a couple of days. Hard to beat that Weber chicken of yours.
ReplyDeleteCooling here a bit to and possible rain for a couple days.
DeleteWith your new Weber you can do the chicken too!
Finally great weather. Good to have so many friends to visit all at one time. Nice to see the improvements to the RV park.
ReplyDeleteThe park is slowly cleaning up. Visiting seems to be feast or famine as you well know.
DeleteSounds like you had a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteYes very busy.
