"The Party never ends" celebrating my birthday again with a tasty lunch from Suzie. And more friends arrived.

Where are we today ?

Just brought back the memory of this country Song (the Road goes on forever and the Party never ends) Not exactly our lifestyle but I can't get this song out of my head.

After a fun time yesterday with the funky weather, from sunny, hot, cool, windy, overcast,  rainy etc.. We enjoyed sharing some cake and ice cream with a few friends here at Rock Glen resort, the day before my actual birthday. We had a fun time and a good sleep last night. Again up early to much cooler weather, overcast skies and some drizzly weather.  I got a nice call from daughter #1 at 10 am and messages from my other 2. Making my day. Lots of birthday wishes on facebook, the blog, messenger and texts and want to thanks everyone here for all the great wishes.
I did get a few nice walkabouts this morning
just about 2 miles, as the camping
weekend is winding down
Now to celebrate some more,(The Part Never ends) just because I can.  At 11 am we are off for a tasty lunch at Skeeter Barlows in Forest, to feast on one of our favourites Broasted chicken. A sinful treat we both enjoy, a birthday treat from Suzie, any excuse for this tasty meal works for us. And Gerry also joined us as well, he was in Forest for groceries anyway and wanted to have lunch too.
this be a place we enjoy
great food and service
As we walked in our friendly waitress Courtney wished me a happy birthday and we sat in our favourite booth. She got our drinks right away rolled by our food orders. She even remembered Suzi'e name from last year and asked about our winter travels south, she follows our blog.
We started off with a tasty appetizer of seafood stuffed mushroom caps.
Yummy?  yup it sure was we shared
Gerry ordered the fish and chips
they look excellent
,
Then Suzie and I both ordered the broasted chicken with fries and veggies.
oh yeah wonderful and of course I took some home
for lunch tomorrow
that be Gerry bugging Suzie,
we pretty well done doggie bags to take home too
Oh and because it was my birthday Courtney supplied this tasty rich desert, that Suzie and I shared, Thanks Courtney.
oh my !
This craving taken care of were back home by 1 pm for a nice relaxing afternoon, Reading outside, then inside, kinda back and forth all afternoon. It would be nice for a bit with some sunshine, then clouds just a funky kind of weather day, at least no more rain.
I bit later I recharged our water softener, hm no longer soft as Suzie reminded me after her shower. Now we good to go again for a couple more weeks. Then back to more reading these page turners.
This being the last day of our long weekend the majority of the people are packing up and heading home, back to work and school again. Something we did for many years a long time ago it seems.
most of view all day long,
not inspiring weather
No supper tonight after our lunch feast, just a nice quiet happy hour mostly inside. More reading and watch the tube for a bit before calling it a night. Maybe a snack later on , popcorn is always a way to satisfy any hunger we might have nice and light and tasty.
About 5 pm Ken walked by to see if we were out, I saw him told how to get Kim and come back we sit insider Happy hour, was starting to drizzle anyway and down below 50F kinda chilly out there. They had been to New Orleans this past spring and were nice enough to pick me up a bottle of Tabasco steak sauce that I love. I bought one last fall and broke it, they were nice enough to pick one up and bring it along. Nice to see them again, we spent time with them in the desert of Arizona and last saw them at a Flying J in Texas. Always nice to catch up with our friends when we can. We had a very nice visit. Ken posts a blog (Journey with Ken and Kim) but has not posted for a while.
Catching up is always fun
with good friends
love this Steak sauce
with southern Kick
Don't think any sunset views tonight. But did get a mild sunset last night.
this was a bit of one I got last night
That was our relaxing day enjoying a tasty lunch and more very special times together that we always enjoy.
Thank you for dropping on by on my special day.
