After a real good nights sleep it was very warm overnight , no heat on and windows open, kicking the blankets off and at 6am was 60 F (15C) outside. Still overcast though. Enjoyed our coffees and computing, Suzie chatted with Chris for a while and I enjoyed a nice walk down the road and back 1.5 miles.

a nice walk down the road here in front of their place |
Then we sat in their front porch for a while more coffee and catching up.
|
we parked back there |

|
some nice spring flowers in their garden |
Just before we left we are gifted some fresh Rhubarb from their huge garden, I need to make something with this, we do love rhubarb. miss the patch we had in our house.
|
lots of rhubarb here , and so sweet |
|
I have lots to put me to work |
Then we secured our coach, hooked up the car and were on the road just before 10:30. A wonderful back country drive, some new roads for us, sunshine and some rain for about 2 hours. we stopped at the GoGo on Egremont Rd to top up our propane with 41 litres about 1/2 of our 89 litre tank at .69 cents a litre excellent price here. Not bad considering the cold weather we have been having for the last 18 days, that works out to $1:61 a day for our heat , cooking, fridge and hot water.
|
love these quiet back roads |
|
nice blossoms on the trees |
|
lots of Ginseng fields on this route too |
Arrived at Rock Glen Resort just after 12:30 checked in and set up on our site. Probably 3 weeks, we do enjoy it here our membership home park, full hookups and no overnight fees.
|
the site we enjoy |
We enjoyed some reading time outside in the sun and out of the cool wind. And shortly after 3 pm our good friends Emile and Monique dropped by for Happy hour. Have not seen these guys since last summer/fall. We got caught up with each others travels and have a wonderful Happy hour. Afternoon temps into the 60's F and with the sunshine and out of the wind was wonderful. No more rain tonight at least not yet.

Where have we been this Summer ?
I discovered your blog about a month ago, and love checking it each day. A very calming end to my day, to see what you've been up to and where you've been. And I love the routine of the morning walk, followed by the events of the day, and what always looks to be a LOVELY supper. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments Judith and enjoying our daily lives right along with us. The morning walks are a great way to begin my day.
DeleteWhat a fantastic sunset, feathers in the sky
ReplyDeleteThanks JO I thought it w as kinda cool too.
DeleteLooks like you had a nice day, back at your old haunt again.
ReplyDeleteKeep on having fun!
It was a very nice day thanks and always enjoy having fun here at Rock Glen.
DeleteLove the way you travel guys, a nice short day! haha. Can you freeze rhubarb if you need to? That looks like a lot but wonderful! Looks like Tucker was happy to have Suzie back! Too cute. Your dinner looks awesome! Think I say that every day! haha.
ReplyDeleteWe love these travel days as well, like this most of the summer. Yes you can freeze rhubarb and keeps in the fridge for a while too. Tucker is always happy to see Suzie. Dinner was very tasty thanks.
DeleteLet us know when you are back in Aurora. Maybe we can get together.
ReplyDeleteDee
Plan on being there for a few day early June , will keep in touch. would be nice to see you guys again.
DeleteWould you believe I had never heard of Rhubarb before? Had to Google it. What is Monique drinking? With my poor eyesight I can not make it out.
ReplyDeleteThis afternoon I came prepared and ate prior to reading your blog unfortunately my dinner does not look anything like your wonderful spread there.
I may have asked you before I do not remember (CRS) do you use a pedometer or an App to keep tabs of your daily walking distance?
M's Belinda ,
ReplyDeleteRhubarb is a tasty tart vegetable that grows here like crazy in the summer months, makes awesome pies etc.. Today I made a Rhubarb crisp. Monique could be drinking a fruit drink of some sort, we don't need alcohol for our happy hours, what ever you like to drink could be coffee, tea, water, soda, whatever. no matter it is a social time.
We did enjoy our catfish and salad was yummy.
I use a health app on my I-phonethat tracks me for my walking distance at least U get some idea of how far I walk.
Thank you for your reply.
