Where are we today ?

Monday morning already? Where did the weekend go? Up early again still cold and raining once again. Hmm no walkabout this morning. No matter I got .9 miles in todays, better than none. Got our coffees and computing done and went for a wet drive into Strathroy to the Super store just after 8 am, for our Non alcoholic beer that we like and fuel up the car . Here at the Real Canadian Superstore gas is only $1.11.9 per litres compared to most other places about $1.29.9 a worthwhile savings for 35 litres. Also picked up a deal for 2 cooked lobsters only $8.16. a deal I could not turn down. A good reason I like to go shopping early especially on a Monday morning. Now I know what we are having for supper tonight , perfect for a cold rainy day !my very short walkabout in the rain |
the sun tried to come out did get to 55F (12C) |
we sat beside the cabin for a bit out of the wind our view from there |
the buds are really coming on the trees, soon lotsa leaves |
a nice Happy Hour inside Toasty warm |
Quickly steamed the lobster for 5 minutes to heat through, added to some brown rice and the last of our asparagus, of course shared some wine and gotta have melted butter for lobster.
this was a wonderful surprise treat we both enjoyed, very tasty, not quite as good as fresh but we will take it for the price |
Thanks again for dropping by and hope you enjoyed you spring day as well.

Now that was an awesome price on the lobster. Yummy looking meal. FYI we are hovering between 1.44 - 1.49 per litre.

DeleteSong was a little ahead of my time will have to look it up. Lobster looks good we get it once a year at the Neustadt Lobsterfest the Saturday after the May 24th.
ReplyDeleteI could not resist about , he came into our coach and you really notice how tall he is. I tied it on the blog then thought of the song. If I see lobster for a good price we will enjoy it. A really nice treat. A lobster fest would be fun too.

ReplyDeleteJO it was excellent a really nice rare treat we really enjoyed.
DeleteI can not believe that with your cold temperatures the trees are already budding. Your dinner looks absolutely divine! Like JO...I can't recall the last time I enjoyed lobster.
ReplyDeleteI am catching up on my blog reading since my internet has been spotty. I had no idea from your post yesterday that you all grew so much produce at this time of the year in Canada. I also enjoyed your trip to the flea market.
It may be cold but the frost is out of the ground and much longer daylight hours, We really enjoyed the Lobster treat
DeleteGlad you caught up. With the cold wether here anything grown here in Canada at thins time of year and all winter, is usually grown in Green houses, but a lots of the produce us imported as well.. We do love this Flea Market.

Your dinner looked better than a 5star restaurant and much cheaper too! Great deal! Amazing how fast time goes isn't it?! Nice happy hour you had, looks cozy inside your coach! Hope the weather warms for you soon and quits raining.
ReplyDeleteThe dinner was excellent and like you said much cheaper as well. Happy Hour was nice and we comfy inside out pot the cold air. Today is a vey nice day sunny, no rain and warmer too.
DeleteI can remember the last time we had lobster, but it's a distant memory! We're just back from Mexico where gas was around a 1.10 USD liter, not much different here in San Diego. WNeed to catch up on your blogs :)
ReplyDeleteLobster is a are treat being so pricey usually. New you were in mexico having a good time at your getaway place. That gas in Mexico at $1.10 is way more expensive than here in Canada covered to Canadian funds is $1.48.. Thanks for coming back, we have been pretty busy here with friends etc..
DeleteWell I don't like lobster but your meal did look yummy!
