Where are we today ?

After yesterday's beautiful weather we had rain overnight , making for another good sleep , Rain drops on the roof are so soothing. And still raining this morning so no early walkabout. Shortly after 9 am it had stopped so I headed for a walkabout, got only 2 blocks done and started to sprinkle a bit, about face and back home again, Oh well I had good intentions. We puttered around for a while, purged some photos and did a time machine backup on my Mac Book.
Then I headed into Kitchener for my yearly eye tests at 12 noon. Hey I have something new! Cataract in my right eye developing. So we set the process in place to see the specialist to have this done. Now here in Ontario takes about 10 months get this done, so may as well start now.
Next in my agenda I headed to New Hamburg for my yearly hearing test. Yup I am still deaf no changes just a few setting change done to my hearing aides and I should be good until the next time. The joys of getting older, I am luckier than some that do not get to enjoy these health issues.Back home by 3 pm and reading outside on an almost sunny warm afternoon 62 F is pretty good. Waiting to hear from Suzie to head on home.
I picked her up at 6 pm, and we decided on supper at the Trails Edge in town , always great food here.
a Cold brew to start |
shared a small ceasar salad |
seafood pasta for Suzie we will take some home |
my fish and chips was excellent |

Where have we been this Summer ?
I was told at my last eye exam that I have cataracts in both eyes!! Oh what fun!!! Glad things were nearly ok with your test!!!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, great post of a great day!!!
My other eye still so will have to see how it goes. With eyes at once I think they fix them one at a time. It was a pretty good day no complaints here.
DeleteHearing aides are a wonderful thing, as long as you don't lose one. I've got lots of experience now keeping track of my 97 yoa father's hearing aides now that he's living with us. Not to mention the tiny batteries! :cO
ReplyDeleteThey are a wonderful thing , not as good as your own hearing when it was good. Don't want to looses one though, but I do have an old pair as well. The batteries are very tiny to work with.
DeleteIn this area it is only a Two Month wait and by having it done in the Hospital there is no charge.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with your Hearing Aides. I know how it can affect other people.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Apparently mine is not an emergency case so there is a longer wait. Otherwise it would be done much sooner. These aides sure do help with my hearing loss glad that I have them. juts wish I did nit need them
DeleteGosh - that’s a bit of a wait. I lost one eye completely almost overnight. I tripped and fell a few times. Be careful.
ReplyDeleteIt is a long wait but I guess mine is not that bad yet. I will be careful, thanks.
DeleteI had both eyes done a couple years ago, not at the same time though. They don't usually do them until they are ready so maybe in 10mth it will be ripe as they called mine LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's what my optometrist said it is not that bad yet so lets start with the process.
DeleteYes getting older is not fun but 100% better than the alternative as too many younger friends and family know. We just swing with the punches. It wasn't a bad day yesterday at all with the gorgeous sunshine.
ReplyDeleteAt least we are getting older and still functional, It was a wonderful sunny day for the most part.
DeleteIt is always nice to get those medical appointments out of the way. Oh how I wish we had your nice temperatures, it is hot and humid here.
ReplyDeleteAs usual there is no safe time to read your blog as I am always hungry and your dinner in particular Suzie's seafood pasta and bread look oh so yummy!
Yes it is nice get those things taken care of. And the temperatures pretty good. cooler today though 55F.
DeleteDinner was excellent as always at The edge, the rest of the pasta tonight.
