Another great sleep and mild night hearing a few coyotes and Burros in the distance is so soothing too. Up early puttered around for a bit had to clean out our fridge. A bad smell think some of the fresh shrimp I put in there last week before I froze them the bag leaked a bit, so a strong fishy smell. Much better now! Then a short walkabout before I headed in the Ajo at 7:30 am on a quiet Sunday morning to enjoy this sleepy town and pick up a few groceries.right on the side of the trail I walked |
This is the Ajo Historic Plaza.
I stopped here at the Refuge Centre to check it out but not open only Mon to Friday
love these Organ Pipe cactus |
For a Sunday treat we decided on a bacon and eggs breakfast just like we used to do when camping every weekend. Some pea meal back bacon, eggs, and home fried potatoes, from the potatoes I baked last night on our Weber Q. This was a very tasty treat and served with SIL Sandies homemade jam, wow this amazing!.
inside today easier with the cool breeze |
this did the trick yummy |
Now to relax in the warm afternoon shade 75F quite comfortable, still too hot in the sun though Enjoying our page turners and this amazing weather that we we love. As I always do read for a while, putter around a few walkabouts really enjoying it here. Chat with few people walking by, man this is the life. Meet so many people when we outside enjoying this weather.

Where have we been this Winter?
The murals in Ajo are so colourful. I presume many talented artists were at work to create them. Thanks for posting them. You are right, how wonderful to see the beautiful wildflowers in the desert. So much eye candy. This weather is finally what we hoped Arizona would be. Enjoy your time there.
ReplyDeleteGlad your enjoyed them Marlene, So many artists do these and so nice to see. These wildflowers are amazing to see, does not happen every year and is a bonus year for us. This weather in now what it usually is just later than normal. loving it! Hope you enjoy it there as well.
DeleteMurals are awesome. I went looking for flowers today. Found one tiny dime sized blue one. 😂
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy we do really enjoy this area, you should soon see more desert flowers after all the rain this winter.
DeleteAjo is on my places to go soon. The murals are just gorgeous lots of artist around town. I hope I don't miss the wild flowers but I think they will be around for a while longer this year.

ReplyDeleteBoth your breakfast as well as dinner look so yummy! Darn...I am hungry again :-(
Not much around this desert area but so much to see if you take the time to look. It was a great day and we are not hungry anymore now. Guess you did not eat first before reading.
DeleteThe murals in Ajo are great, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful day yesterday, why we come here for sure.
I think Bob calls those flowers California poppies. They are pretty and a real surprise in the desert.
They keep painting moire here every year nice tp keep looking for more. They are very pretty when you get a while large field of them.
DeleteWe loved Ajo, especially the murals and the white church. If we didn't have a motorhome, Ajo would be a fun place to buy a little house for under 60 K and just drive down in the winter. Nice that you are getting warm weather.
ReplyDeleteThis would be an excellent place for a winter home, but weeny the RV more. Loving this amazing warm weather too, just the way it should be.

DeleteLove the murals in that town. We WILL have to get there one day! Your breakfast looks incredible..my weakness those home fried potatoes! Yum..dinner looks awesome too! That's a great price on the asparagus, if we can find it for $1.74 a pound I consider that a good price. Love the way you are enjoying the area and everything!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys it sure is wonderful peaceful area we can enjoy nature. The murals and relaxing with the great weather and enjoying some tasty meals.
DeleteNice way to get a bit of color into your morning. The murals are amazing, other towns seem to be doing more of that too. I think to reduce graffiti and attract tourists. Sure is nice to find that Gunsight Wash is now a golden field of poppies.
