Bella wandering about looking for company |
We had a cool night about 38 f, pretty windy and rainy but no storm watches, plus no hail so all was good. At 4 am puddles all over and still drizzling a bit no sunshine, wind gusts to 28 mph and not gonna get too warm. It did get to 46 F though this afternoon. So when the rain stopped took a short walkabout but not too comfy especially with the wind. Met up with Bella and she showed me the way back home. Hmm I think she wanted to come inside, but she was soaking wet and pretty muddy, sorry Bella.
|
she is waiting for the dog inside next door to come out and play |
So back home by 8 am a perfect day to make a pot of homemade soup. Boiled up the bones from the chicken I cooked the other day, made a nice broth. Added a bunch of veggies I cut up and let it simmer for another hour. While that was happening decided it was a good day to defrost our fridge and freezer. Now that was taken care of we enjoyed some tasty chicken vegetable barley soup for lunch. perfect for a day like this.
|
very tasty and enough for a few more lunches |
Took a drive after lunch around the campground down by the lake but the cold wind was so bitter.
|
all these sites have cement for parking and a patio |
|
not pleasant weather |
Then I drove down the road to the casino just to wander about inside to get some walking done, not very big though.
|
this casino is new a couple of years ago |
Now just a country drive around a few back roads to explore a bit.
|
nice paved back roads |
|
interesting scenery |

Got back and here was Bella showing the car the way back to our campsite. greeted me with inquisitive eyes, like can you play with me?
|
what a friendly dog Bella is |
So leaving our local tv channels on cable just keeping an eye on the weather, and came across a movie have not seen for quite a few years, Forest Gump. So that played in the background while we got some comfortable reading time in, between reading and the movie, plus some more inside cleaning we had an enjoyable afternoon.
Now this Goose wandering about the campground is not friendly at all. When walking I avoid this area and when I drive the car by it actually attacked the car today, flapping its wings and banging on the side of the car. Wow these guys can be vicious!
|
I will keep my distance from this guy |
About 3 pm we enjoyed a quiet Happy Hour and discussed our travels and supper for tonight. Sounds like we will enjoy some Butterfly Coconut shrimp we picked up the other day.
|
enough here for 2 meals not much more than 5 bucks |
So I made up my seafood sauce quick easy and tasty. Mix these ingredients below until you get the taste you like, works for us.
|
seafood sauce we like |
The shrimp were done in the oven about 20 minutes and were excellent. They actually came with a sweet chilly dipping sauce that was very tasty as well.
|
coconut shrimp and our salad was wonderful |
Once again no visible sunset tonight still overcast. Gonna cool down again tonight below freezing maybe, and should be nicer tomorrow looking forward to nicer, warmer weather.
|
tonights sunset did not happen again |
We actually had a very nice day, the 2 of us doing what we enjoy. Being together with each other in this amazing lifestyle.
Once again thank you for dropping on by.

Where have we been this Winter?
I would hope that Bella has an owner there in the park. Nice looking and friendly pup/
ReplyDeleteDon in Okla.
Bella's owner apparently lives across the road an she comes over here when that lady is working.
DeleteMight not be the best weather today, but at least you are not in the 'shelter' :) Good day for your soup.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that Belle knows where you and Suzi can be found!
Thats right Jeff no need for the shelter so far forecasts are looking better. It was a great soup day
DeleteShe seems to know everyone here in the campground. A social butterfly.
Poor pup left out all day in such nasty weather while her humans go off.
ReplyDeleteShe has some shelter and food but seems to enjoy wandering about the campground.
DeleteReading you blog has become part of our morning routine and we agree geese are not to be trusted
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you along , those geese sure can be vicious.
DeleteEven though it was not the best weather day sounds like you still enjoyed the day. Not having to be in the shelter is certainly a plus. It definitely sounded like a soup day and yours looked delicious.
ReplyDeleteWe did have a very nice day despite the weather. And the soup sure hit the spot.
DeleteSeems like your countdown clock is moving a bit too fast! :c(
ReplyDeleteWe agree it is moving too fast !
DeleteMaybe the goose has a nest near by. Love the sweet face that Bella shows. What a wonderful welcome she gives you. Like you we too are getting better weather now, not great but better and it's fantastic that we missed the storm. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteThat goose is hanging around a trailer about 6 sites down from us.
DeleteA bonus that we missed the storm , and some nice sunny weather again, is a bonus.
Gotta love Bella! What a sweetie. Your soup looks delicious!! YUM. Even though the weather wasn't great you still had a great one! All geese are scary to me, too bad they can't get rid of them out of the park! Enjoy today, hoping the weather is better!
ReplyDeleteShe sure is a sweetie always here to greet us. The soup was very tasty thanks.
DeleteJust the one goose think maybe a nest some where near. Nice sunny weather now with less wind makes it quite nice.
Hi George! Just catching up again on park wifi. Bell has kicked us out again. Lol
ReplyDeleteNice to enjoy time together inside or out.
Thanks for the seafood sauce ingredients. I'll try that next time we have shrimp.
Glad to have you back again Patsy, your welcome for the recipe so easy. Our Bell has been working fine. We always enjoy everyday no matter what we are doing.
DeleteI would show that goose the inside of your Weber Q!
ReplyDeleteThat's a thought, you kill and clean I will cook it.
DeleteHummmm the mid-states are flooding...hope you find clean water. News says wells are contaminated from flooding.
ReplyDeleteSo far our water seems good, though we only drink purified water.
DeleteI need to follow your example and incorporate more walking into my daily routine. Bella has such a sweet face and is very friendly. Do her owners work on weekends also? They better hope no one decides to take her back home with them.
ReplyDeleteNice lunch and supper, I am hungry now :-(
Walking is always good whenever I get the chance. Her owners are around and she will not go into anyones vehicle or house just likes to be around people.
DeleteLunch and supper was wonderful thanks , now go and eat.
