Our last night here and another good sleep, up early for some computing and coffee, a nice walkabout then hopefully secure the coach and hook up the car and get on the road. A couple of nice walkabouts enjoy this mild weather and a nice sunrise.

a bit foggy but we not in a hurry |
We had talked to Marty (maintenance) yesterday about getting stuck with all the rain. he said he would be in at 9:30 this morning and set down some boards for us. Now at 10am he no showed. We checked and there was a family emergency so he not here.
|
we might get stuck |
|
the car was stuck on Saturday and we got towed out |
|
looks good so we gave it a try |
|
nope we stuck! |
Yesterday a fellow Bobby came by and said he could get us out , he has been here 15 years and does it all the time, So I tracked him down and he came over. But we need the tractor. Hmm it is a key lock now, So he drove 7 miles each way to get the key. Got the tractor and came down with a chain.
|
coach carefully hooked up and slowly we managed to get unstuck |
|
a slow pull but we got out no damage done! bonus |
This be Bobby below a very friendly helpful guy and refused to take any money for the 3 hours of his time he spent here getting us unstuck as much as I tried. Now That is one very friendly camper , actually like most we have met over the years. Always help people when we can.
|
Thanks Bobby what a great guy, fellow camper here |
|
this where we were stuck , not much but just enough |
Now a tip for us and anyone else coming in here get a pull through or gravelled site (they do have a few).
Finally at 11:45 this morning we were on the road , car hooked up and ready to go. Made a quick lunch for the road and headed north on 69, stopped at the Flying J to fuel our coach 57 gallons taken so we good for another 400 plus miles.
Took the 4 lane(not a good road) for an hour or so then some very nice 2 lane roads (avoiding the tolls) making our way to Grove OK.
|

Where have we been this Winter?
You were smart to stop trying to move when the coach wheels sunk. You could have made a big mess and potentially broke something if you had kept trying to get out on your own. Thankfully friendly campers lend a hand!
ReplyDeleteVery nice wildflowers in OK. Enjoy!
One spin and we are done, no point trying anymore, lots of friendly campers here a very friendly park.
DeleteFriends always carry 2x12s and rugs. The rugs seem to work most times. Glad you got out!!
ReplyDeleteI have some 2X 12s and rugs too but knew they would not work this time, The grass was too wet and slippery.
DeleteNice that your were able to get help. Those sure are nice washrooms!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to Bobby to take the time and unstuck us. New owners here a few years ago they are doing an awesome job.
DeleteCould you back up? The passenger side tires seemed to be on solid footing. Looks like the tractor spun its tires a bit looking for traction of its own. Nice wildflowers, and a nice park for the next few days
ReplyDeleteI tried to back up that only made it worse. Both side were pretty bad, juts that the left tire sounds first. This is another one of our parks we enjoy.
DeleteWhat a mess, maybe they need to lay more gravel down. Nice place you at know with pads to park on. Bathrooms are really nice. Enjoy your stay
ReplyDeleteUsually there is not much of a problem but hey have had a lot of rain this past winter so extra we. They are working on gravelling sites a few every year as money permits.
DeleteGlad you got unstuck, such nice friendly people willing to help out free of charge...kudos to them!
ReplyDeleteNice campground you are now in. Must say I have never seen pink wildflowers before.
We do love it here a wonderful are we enjoy, Thank goodness for friendly campers. Love these wildflowers here every year at this time.
DeleteYikes! That was scary. Great helpers turn up in a campground. Campers are some of the best people on the planet! Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteAt least we were on a campsite with out home and the friendly campers come to help. Like you said the best people on the planet.
DeleteWhen yo posted about the stuck car, I wondered if you might have an issue with the coach as well - glad you got out okay.
ReplyDeleteI figured we would get stuck that is why Marty was going to bring the boards, but he did not come in and we did get stick, But Bobby got us out.
DeleteWhat an awesome guy for pulling you out, we know how stressful getting stuck can be!
ReplyDeleteI knew we would be ok, just the waiting and waiting , feeling so helpless.
DeleteIt doesn't take much to get stuck some times. Glad all went well and it wasn't a tough haul out. We thought 69N was a bit on the rough side as well. Enjoy your time there!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sure does not take much to get stuck with these rigs. but it was an easy out. We sure will enjoy our time here.
DeleteGlad you got out all ok. You were wise to wait for assistance. It is unbelievable how friendly and accommodating other humans can be. Just to let you know it was in the low 90's here yesterday in the Yuma area. Time to move to higher desert.
ReplyDeleteYes campers especially are so helpful . Glad we left southern AZ when we did, have had some decent weather mostly good temperatures.
DeleteGlad you got out of there and nice that Bobby was able to help you. Love that smile on his face! Nice campground you are staying at now. Hopefully lovely weather continues for you! Dinner looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteWe are glad as well. Bobby is a super guy is is another campground we enjoy too.
DeleteYou are very fortunate that you got out without damaging the front end. Fiberglass can be fragile when pulled. Love this wild flowers. Okay enough with the adventures already. Have a fun week there.
ReplyDeleteWe assessed the situation and used the tractor so that the chain would be just off the ground below the fibreglass.
DeleteLove the flowers here too. Everyday day is an adventure in this lifestyle thats why we love it.
Almost got stuck twice with my RV but lucked out and was able to keep moving. Doesn't take much to get stuck with the highway tread tires on MHs.
ReplyDeleteThat's for sure this is our 4th time in 13 years but each one was an easy out. The highway tires are great on the highway , but.
