Just another wonderful quiet night and a good sleep.  Quite mild again 55F at 5 am  and by 10 it was 74F on a slightly overcast day, Another very nice warm desert day.
No visible sunrise this morning and I did get short early morning walkabout. Then into Olsens in Ajo for a few groceries.
nice colourful flower
so beautiful and peaceful here
the quiet trails perfect
lots of nicely decorated sites
After the groceries I stopped by the Open Pit copper mine just because I was in town anyway.  Back in the day this was the lifeblood of the community here. Now just one big hole in the ground.
The new Cornelia Copper mine in AJO  this was shut down in 1983, The open pit mine is 1.5 miles across and 1,100 feet deep.
one huge hole in the ground
Back home, putter around for a while enjoying this very nice day and at 81F overcast and no humidity it almost felt cool.
our afternoon views.
Our friend Ron got a new tube for Loree's bicycle at Olsen's on Ajo. All fixed up and taking it for a test drive.
looking good Ron
a bit later he took Freddie for a run with his bike
Then about 3:30 over to their pace for a fun Happy Hour, just because we could and they are here.
Ron even took a rare picture of us
Ron, Loree and Freddie
gotta love Freddie so beautiful playful and friendly
Soon was time for us to head home and whip to supper, Tonight a breaded pork Schnitzel. I whipped up with fried onions and mushrooms topped with shredded cheese and homemade salsa to go with our salad,.

Another great sleep and mild night hearing a few coyotes and Burros in the distance is so soothing too. Up early puttered around for a bit had to clean out our fridge. A bad smell think some of the fresh shrimp I put in there last week before I froze them the bag leaked a bit, so a strong fishy smell. Much better now! Then a short walkabout before I headed in the Ajo at 7:30 am on a quiet Sunday morning to enjoy this sleepy town and pick up a few groceries.
right on the side of the trail I walked
And while here took the time to check out some of the many beautiful murals around town. Really love this quirky town.
This is the Ajo Historic Plaza.
I stopped here at the Refuge Centre to check it out but not open only Mon to Friday
love these Organ Pipe cactus
Back home and it is getting hot, blue sunny skies a light breeze and shorts on by 9:30 this morning.
For a Sunday treat we decided on a bacon and eggs breakfast just like we used to do when camping every weekend. Some pea meal back bacon, eggs, and home fried potatoes, from the potatoes I baked last night on our Weber Q. This was a very tasty treat and served with SIL Sandies homemade jam, wow this  amazing!.
inside today easier with the cool breeze
this did the trick yummy
After lunch down the road a few miles to check out Gun Sight Wash a BLM 14 day free area we have stayed at before. Much busier than last fall, but still not crowded. The bonus here was all the desert wild flowers. Wow what a treat.
Now to relax in the warm afternoon shade 75F quite comfortable, still too hot in the sun though Enjoying our page turners and this amazing weather that we we love. As I always do read for a while, putter around a few walkabouts really enjoying it here. Chat with few people walking by, man this is the life. Meet so many people when we outside enjoying this weather.
loving this clear blue sunny skies
After our happy hour, time to whip up supper, Tonight a couple of boneless, skinless chicken breasts on sale , and some fresh aparagus only .99 cents a lb added to our salad we had more than enough, leftover chicken for more lunches, will be wonderful.
chicken with Bourbon BBQ sauce was so tasty
I added some fresh salsa to my chicken, was oh so good !
now to wrap up another wonderful day
 with a great desert sunset
Does not get much better than this in our minds, Thanks again for dropping on by.
