Perfect weather exploring a bit and met a fellow blogger. Love this lifestyle !

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
A very mild night for sleeping 50F at 5 am  and as the sun was rising managed to caught a wonderful colourful morning sky, A great way to begin our first day here in Borrego springs.
love these desert sunrises
Then heading into town for a nice morning drive past the airport and cruise about town like I enjoy checkin things out , it has been2 years things have changed. As they always do,
the small airport here with a few planes
you have a plane and need a hanger?
A bit later headed into town passed the American legion to see how busy it was for the Bayfield Bunch .
Then checked out the beautiful green grass in Christmas circle. And the Centre Market to make sure they still have my favourite pork chorizo and yes they do, I will be back. Over to the state park to fill a water jug for dishes, I have stopped here for many years Oops the outside taps are not turned on. Plus they now charge a day use fee for the visitor centre and day use area here. I have enjoyed it a few times when free, but don't want to pay the $9.00 senior fee for a walkabout there.
Christmas Circle in town
love this local Centre Market too
Still driving around town found the New Library, WOW like Jeff said OVERKILL. It is huge. But they do have free wifi. Still looking for water, back the Christmas circle and found a drinking fountain so got my gallon water jug topped up. and back home, A nice drive about the area that we love. Kinda overcast today with only a light breeze and in the low 60's F so not too bad outside at all.
what an amazing library here for a small town
we will come back when it is open
pretty quiet here right now just the way we love it.
still lotsa room here
After a tasty lunch of reheated Silly Al's pizza in our frying pan then time to explore another area for a bit.  Back home we decided to stay for a few days and tilt our solar panel.
On my drive I did find some desert flowers blooming, a rare event here and so nice to see. again.
      Heading down Henderson Canyon road.
lots of oranges in the orchards but none at the fruit stands
Back home to enjoy a very nice warm sunny afternoon in the sun, shorts and sandals to enjoy this day reading our e-readers.
a wonderful very warm  winter day
hot in the sun.
and another John Sandford page turner
our neighbour bush was very quiet today
A bit later this afternoon we had a fellow Blogger, rv'er whose blogs we have followed for quite a few years Jeff Pierce (Ruffin it with Rufus) from San Diego California
Jeff stopped bu a brought a  sample of
wonderful California wine to share with us for
Happy hour, thanks Jeff
Thanks for the wine Jeff it was excellent
Jeff and I had been blogger friends for a few years so nice to finally meet in person, Exactly as I pictured him almost. Nothing like meeting an on line friend and chatting one on one. The time flew by but he still needed to get back home to San Diego, Sure hope we can connect again , sooner than later. Maybe we can headed out there for a few days.
Jeff and me
He had to head home over the mountain, sad to see him go  Safe travels Jeff.
Soon time for us to whip up supper, so made our salad as the sun was setting preheat our Weber Q and grill a couple our Turkey Garlic sausage and one Chorizo sausage for very tasty supper. And a few leftovers once again. As we enjoyed another wonderful desert sunset.

  2. You can get water at the laundromat, we used their big sink.I think the Chamber of Commerce might also allow you to fill a water jug. I know they have a recycle bin open to the public but you need a key for the regular dumpster.
I love the Canyon Road. There were no fruit in the stands when we were there either. Plenty on the trees but not a single stand open.
Nice to meet Jeff, glad he stopped by. Looks like a nice bottle of wine, I'll bet you enjoyed it. Enjoy your time there!

I know there is a term for the way the sunlight was penetrating the clouds, at think you captured a couple great photos of clouds dancing today. I hope we meet up again on the road.

  6. I'm glad Bush was quiet and you didn't have to chop him down. Looks like a very nice area to camp for awhile. As for the library ... good grief!! It's bigger than my town library with a population of 65,000!!

We do enjoy it here, the town population here is about 3,500 for the size of this amazing library.

  9. George, when we were there, we were told that they only charge for the state park on weekends. We weren't there long enough to go back and check on a week day, so you may want to do that and see. Let us know if it is any different.

  10. I have dumped tanks and taken on water at the State Park for the day use fee. They didn't give me the senior rate though. Got to remember to tell them. Guess I must look younger than I am.

  14. Michael loves John Sanford books. As you say, real page turners. Your roof looks in pretty good condition, George. Maybe if we decide to go back to an A we should look for one with an aluminum roof like yours.

    1. John Sanford books are wonderful. We love the aluminum roof low maintenance, our coach is 20 year old, some newer coaches have fibreglass roofs.
