Here it is another gorgeous day, feeling good in the fact that I actually slept in until 5:30 this morning, And even better when we were blessed with another colourful desert sunrise. We were planning on heading out this morning but the powers to be had different plans for us. So we will just enjoy this desert area we love for a while longer with good friends.another perfect desert sunrise |
and this amazing desert skies we really enjoy |
Was going to go for my walkabout but the sun went behind the clouds for a while and was only 49F with a chilly breeze. So I opted to go fo drive around town, so peaceful here now and checked out Gambler's Rv on Kuehn St in Quartzsite a funky Rv store that has so much new and used rv parts. Then back home again to putter around for a bit and enjoy a tasty light lunch.
Puttered around for a while enjoying our reading outside out of the wind and in the sun was very nice only 71F .
Then 3 pm over to Ken and Shirley's for happy hour , He parked his truck to block the wind and Tom and Deb moved theirs as well . Blocked the wind nicely but put us in sone shade. Well we flapped our gums had some great conversion. Deb brought over some Beer Margaritas , chips and salsa. Hey we had a Mexican Happy hour !
we sheltered from the wind nicely |
yup we had snacks and margaritas. fun times |
the desert is turning green but did not find any desert flowers yet |
Kim and Ken Heading on out tomorrow for new adventures |
the beginning of a wonderful sunset |
We headed home just before 5 pm. whipped up a salad and grilled some marinated boneless skinless chicken breast cut into strips for a tasty supper and of course more leftovers.
not long these are done on our grill mat |
tasty, tender, yes it was |

Where have we been this Winter?
It's too bad that you have another RV repair, but nice to see you are making the most of it. That is the nice thing about this life, we usually don't have to be anywhere so we can be flexible.
ReplyDeleteNo problem with the repair we can enjoy wherever we are, this is our home so not a problem at all.
DeleteSure wish we were out there with you. Can't leave for awhile until we get some medical things straightened out.
ReplyDeleteSure would be nice to have you here as well, too bad you have those issues slowing you down. Always nice to be on the road again.
DeleteMexican happy hour sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun time the drinks, snacks and lively swapping stories..
DeleteWOW the last couple pics of the sunset are awesome! Does that cheese platter fit with your Mexican Happy Hour theme? Looks delish!, but not so sure that is pepper-jack cheese and chorizo ...
ReplyDeleteWe found two pair of gas shocks at https://gamblersrv.com/ that allowed the full opening of a couple basement compartments. Not as great as I planned, sine I still have to get on my knees to extract or store the items within!
LOL, only you would pic that out Jeff. When Deb brought the Beer Margaritas oven she said you have to have chips and salsa,, but the Shirley already had the crackers and cheese, and no it was not pepper jack and chorizo.
DeleteGamblers is an interesting place it you are looking for used or unusual rv parts, amazing what you can find in there
We had a 2002 Fleetwood Southwind and the heat shield spot welds broke while we driving in New Mexico. I parked in a rest area & brought out the MH slide so I could access the shield. Then I crawled under the MH and drilled 4 holes through the shield and into the MH frame. Self threading metal screws were then screwed into the pilot holes. It worked fine for 2 more years and was still good when we traded it in.
ReplyDeleteMight be a cheap option for you.
I was going to do that but no place to screw it too only the propane tank or spare tire, the support drops down from the vehicle chassis is a 1 inch square tube that broke away from the chassis.
DeleteClouds ... a photographer's friend!! Love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy love all the wonderful expressions the clouds portray.
DeleteGreat sunrise and sunset pics! Thanks again for checking out the thermostat at the RV store! Looks like i'll wait til we get home and order one online. Happy Hour was wonderful as always! Great days here in the southwest!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys.
DeleteYour welcome no problem I like exploring anyway. For the difference in price I would be ordering it on line as well.
Gotta love the southwest and always fun H Hours.
I've been surprised wt the amount of green in the desert.
ReplyDeleteIt only takes a bit of rain to make things green here, these plants can lay dormant for years.
DeleteThings are pretty green here and I think they've had more rain or dampness at least. Lots of little things are showing some colour.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful happy hour, and I'm sure the food all tasted wonderful. Safe travels to your friend Kim and Ken.
Nice to see the desert turning green again this year and hopefully soon some more cooler. The Happy hour snacks were very tasty and a nice so long for now with Kim and Ken.
DeleteLovely sky pictures, George. Gotta love the desert beauty up and down.
ReplyDeleteNice to have a last H.H. with Kim and Ken, we'll follow to see where they end up.
Continue to enjoy the desert!
We do love this desert scenery as you well know. We will catch up with Kim and Ken at some point this year I am sure or back home in Ontario.
DeleteLooks like a fun happy hours but a wee bit cool. That is a lot of green in your area.
ReplyDeleteHappy hours fun an very warm bit the cold winters make it chilly
