Finally on the road again, looking for some new scenery, and Borrego Springs does it.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Our last morning here in Quartzsite and was 33F at 4:30 this morning but warming up as we saw our last beautiful sunrise here. Took a short drive about and topped up our water jug I use for dishes then home to putter around for bit packing up a few things .
our last Quartzsite sunrise until the next time
We got our coach secured and ready to head on out only about a 4 hour drive or so, Then Said our see, y'all laters to our friends here, We have enjoyed some very fun times with these guys , getting to know them more and the fun Happy Hours we enjoyed together.
lr, Ken, Suzie, Shirley, Deb and Tom
I also would like to thank Deb for this wonderful recipe she gave me for Alfredo sauce and Shirley's Spaghetti Squash Pizza crust, Brocolli tots, and the amazing sausage cheese balls we sampled, They will be filled and assure we will enjoy these.
After these see ya laters we hit the road just before 10 am heading west our goal Borrego Springs California. It's been a couple of years and we sure do enjoy it here. West On I-10 through Indio and around the Salton Sea we explored many years ago. Ready for some new scenery after being in Quartzsite for more than a month, longer than we like to stay in one spot , but we did get repairs done and had fun times with good friends. The hitch itch was really scratching us badly.
heading west in I-10
one of the welds on our heat shield
another one here very secure now
we are very happy with this repair
In California we stopped at a rest area and spotted our first view of desert flowers this year.
love to see these desert flowers
it has been a few years since we have seen them
Getting closer to Indio California we can see the snow capped mountains, much higher elevation.
looks cold up there
making our way past the Salton Sea
where we camped and explored over 10 years ago
love this drive into Borrego
Heading up to Borrego Springs remember this road a few miles that are very rough. no different than many years ago, just need to go nice and slow. Love the scenery along this road and all the boon docking spots, mostly for the weekend warriors with their toys We will avoid those places especially with next weekend coming into play here with Presidents Day happening these areas will be a zoo.
We pulled into our usual place we like to stay at Peg Leg Smiths, not very remote but not as many rigs here as we have seen in the past. Found a nice spot and got set up by 2 pm (1Pm California time). Was very hot in the sun with no wind, 68F but in the sun HOT. Soon had my shorts and sandals on.
we  have a nice spot here enough room and nobody very close
not very crowded here right now
our view of our neighbouring bush
a nice neighbour to have
looking behind us the brown desert has turned green wow!
Gonna cruise around tomorrow looking for some desert flowers. I am sure I will find.
We enjoyed a quiet Happy Hour then soon time to whip up supper and enjoy another desert sunset right here.
Tonight grilled a couple of Alaskan pollock fillets right on the grill to go with our tasty salad.
heat the lemon on the grill makes them very juicy
another great desert day
this sure did the trick tonight
Now here we are settled into Borrego Springs another place we enjoy, so quiet and peaceful here and we can check this area out once again. At least until sometime next week but will be outta her before next weekend
Want to thank y'all for stopping in to  check us out and share these memories with you. Hope you had a great day as well.
So nice that we can be on the road again and enjoy this amazing lifestyle in the southwest.
176 miles today

  2. Got to agree that bush makes for a good neighbor not likely to have any trouble with it. Nice to have the shield all welled up too, now no worries.

    1. This neighbour is very quiet and does not block our view no need to worry about thus guy. The heat shield fixed does feel much better not and the vibration we had before seems to have gone away.

  3. When's Happy Hour? I'll be in the south end of the park tomorrow to catch a bit of the Holtville Carrot Festivities. It's an easy detour to return via Peg Leg early/mid afternoon.
Check out the new Library while you're there. Way overkill!
