Borrego Springs sculptures on a quiet Sunday.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another good nights sleep and 53F at 5am, It was very windy overnight , but as the sun rises today the wind died down and more beautiful sunny blue skies. A quick trip to town stopped at the centre market for a few supplies, namely a fresh chicken to grill and a couple of pounds of wonderful fresh store made pork chorizo. Christmas circle looks even much more inviting on a sunny day.
Back home puttered around for a bit and a walkabout this desert area here, Enjoyed a light tasty lunch, Then decided to hope in the car and take some more pictures of these wonderful desert sculptures. We have seen most of them over the years, but today I found a few more, Remote bumpy driving through the dusty desert no problem with our car. There is a lots of pictures on todays posting so beware, Great memories for us to to share with you if you like.
These amazing sculptures were made by Artist Ricardo Breceda . more than 130 of them in and around Borrego Springs. These pictures below will tell the story.
this 350 foot serpent is something to see.
the tail at the other end
under the road in the middle
both sides of the road
the sculptures are on various pieces of this property

looks like this lady is being eaten alive
sunny Christmas circle this morning
this is where we are parked
dusty desert trails searching for more
the trail through the Ocotillo cactus
Back home by noon next to no wind and very hot in the sun so shorts and sandals on outside enjoyed the hot sun for a while. Then about 2 pm the wind just picked up and clouds hiding the sun . Temperature dropped from 69 f to 62F. Then 30 minutes later we back outside to enjoy this warm sunny weather back into our e-readers.
very quiet here just the way we like it
Soon time to whip up supper and decided to finish the rest of the Hamburger helper we had the other night , to go with our salad of course.
On mine I added some spices I enjoy, curry and Cayenne pepper
to give it a new flavour and  a kick.
Dishes done and back outside for a bit read some more and enjoyed a colourful sunset.
a nice way to end a wonderful quiet desert Sunday
That was it for us today, enjoying the scenery here in and around Borrego springs.
Thanks for joining us today and hope you enjoyed your day as well.

  1. The attention to detail in the sculptures is truly amazing It's hard to comprehend that Avery (labels fortune) invested so much to promote his love of Borrego Springs. His wife continues the displays. Their is often a new one on the property, I have not yet seen the one in your photo 'P1060251.JPG', I need to schedule a return visit!

    1. Yes Jeff the detail is amazing, A lots on money has been tied up in all these sculptures and nice to see even more being added, The at picture was taken at the SE of town towards the Legion, maybe 3/4 mile or so off the road up the hillside. It is fun looking for some new ones off on the desert trails, like search for wild animals with my camera.
