Where are we today ?

Wow, so peaceful here, no road noise, no trains, no close neighbours, just quiet. Now this is a real gem of a primitive campground. 208 acres and over 600 huge campsites, almost like our Ontario provincial parks but in the desert , boon docking , but our parks charge $40.00 plus a night! $40.00 a week is awesome. I am sure we will return here again.
A very nice quiet walkabout as the sun was rising then down the road to Why. checked out the gas station and store. Very nicely set up here in the middle of nowhere.

Then we just took a cruise into Ajo to check out the town again. It is a very nice small town very scenic. Farmer's market on Saturday we will check out.
Then a must stop at Olsen's the IGA grocery store. Nothing we need right now but will be back, they have most of everything we will need here.

We checked out Darby Wells boon docking area but not our cup of tea, too remote for our liking |

lots of space here |
Back home for lunch some quality reading done in the sun and shade. Too hot in the sun and too cold in the shade, so we made use of both. Only 68f today. Gonna be much warmer for the next week.

Where have we been this Winter
Those donkeys are adorable!! Glad they stopped by to say hi. Your site sounds so nice....quiet and peaceful. I love your pics especially the ones of the churches in or missions. They are so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteIt is so peaceful here and lotsa room, some of the old buildings in Ajo are really wonderful.
DeleteLove the burros! Have fun there on your own. It looks like you are enjoying yourselves.
ReplyDeleteThe burros were a treat, we expect to see more of them too. We always have fun you know that, you guys too.
DeleteI like the Ajo Why area. It is like the old west. I marvel at what the towns used to be. I hope all of the residents dreams of fortune come true one day. Enjoy your stay.
ReplyDeleteIt is a area that we enjoy back to basic, and amazing to think how busy this area once was.
DeleteWe are going to have to check out that side of Coyote Howls next time we head that way. It looks perfect...space plus a dump station and water.
ReplyDeleteWe like it, , just a different place to enjoy.
DeleteWe truly think we will spend another week there in the future. Really nothing to do but it is so peaceful and beautiful. Love the Wanna-Be Fishin.
ReplyDeleteWe don't need anything to do, other than getting away from the cold weather back home. Outside every day enjoy the desert scenery, fresh air and exercise.
DeleteLooks like you have plenty of peace and quiet.
ReplyDeleteYes Larry we sure do and love every minute of it.
