What a great night for sleeping. Cool desert night, warm comforter on the bed and windows open , 28 f at 5 am and just fired up our Mr Heater for a bit then toasty warm. Even better when the sun came up then got comfortably hot in the shade. 86f by 1 pm, awesome !wonderful sunrise right out from our kitchen table |
not sure what this is but kinda cool |
interesting info about the area. we will check out some more before we leave |
can't see the scrapes with the compartment closed |
I had a couple of minor repairs to take care of this morning. 1st our one rear compartment door that has scraped the ground a few times, because of the low clearance we have. The aluminium trim has come loose again, the light pop rivets gave away. No problem drilled them out and installed some much heavier ones. Should do for a while. until we bottom out again, This can happen even just pulling into a service station.
drilled out the 1/8th rivets and installed 3/16 heavier rivets, should do the trick? |
old one on the left, new one on the right new technology should be better still no leaks detected |
all installed in 1/2 an hour and seems to be doing well, maybe? so far so good |
Supper tonight our last 2 smoked pork chops from the Quartzsite General store accompanied with a salad and the rest of our coleslaw from Junction Express yesterday and a garlic bun.
just a few minutes on the grill does the trick |
sure was tasty |
This park is a very nice place to hang out in, regular rate is $10.00 a night with full hookups plus electricity, sure can't beat that by much now can you. Wish there was more campgrounds like this. Because of our AOR membership we only paid $9.00 a night even better.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your day was a wonderful as ours was.
Where have we been this Winter
I think the plant is a century agave. They are quite pretty!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful day!
Thanks for the info much appreciated. A wonderful day it was.
DeleteAs GoodTimesRollin mentions your mystery plant is a Century Plant. They look like giant asparagus before the bloom. Would like to spend some time in your area so keep the posts and ideas coming :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeff, so much interesting stuff to see we will check out a few things.
DeleteTom and I have stayed at the Quail Ridge RV a couple of times it is gravel but always clean. It is nicely located for exploring the area. We have yet to get there but I believe there are two museums on the Army Post.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice clean park, think we will be checking out the army post. So much to see in the area too.
DeleteCrikey ..... fixin' stuff ..... that's W O R K isn't it?? Hope you didn't over exert yourself!! That sunrise from your kitchen window sure looks good but those pork chops look better!!
ReplyDeleteNo Charlie its not work it is what we do taking care of our house.. the chops awesome !
DeleteA useful bit of DIY. Have a good day today.
ReplyDeleteJust puttering around enjoying this wonderful weather.
DeleteWe loved staying at Quail Ridge, so close to everything. We did a lot of touring from their and still more for us to see when we return likely in the fall.
ReplyDeleteSo much to see in this area, gotta love it.
DeleteAlways good to have an extra water pump or two :)
ReplyDeleteYes it is, never know when we might be stuck and need one.
DeleteNice place at a very reasonable price. Getting a tad warm. Will have to get my hikes in earlier. You're in a very pretty area.
ReplyDeleteIt is reasonable and like you said a very nice area too.
DeleteYou get some really nice campgrounds for a great price!! Sure wish we could find that in our area.
ReplyDeleteAnother nice day and a yummy meal!!
That is why we head to the southwest, more affordable, no crowds, humidity, bugs, traffic and wide open spaces.
DeleteIt seems there is always something on the RV that needs fixing. Keeping the extra water pumps is a good thing. No sense in taking a chance.
ReplyDeleteAlways something to fix as you well know, extra water pumps are always good.
