     Up early as usual, walkabout then took our time securing the coach for travel and hook up the car.
     All done by 7:45 and on the road again. Rob and Pat were behind us and he was nice enough to move the truck so that we could hook right here.  Thanks Rob.
      We paid up our electric bill for the 7 days we were here at Quail Ridge total of $1.44, not too bad when  we use our solar for most of our power. It sure has paid for itself over the years.
    Said our see-ya laters with Rob and Pat. Then working our way east. No big rush but it was a good travel day and we put in 324 miles. Just wanted to get the other side of El Paso and stop for the night.

           Nice easy drive most of the way, bright sunny day. no winds, perfect travel day.

      Heading east on  I-10 through the Texas Canyon Rest area. love the huge rocks here that just seem like they are a ready to roll away.

        Just moving right along into New Mexico we have spent some time there in the past and really enjoyed it.

       Oops came a cross and accident looks like a moving truck kinda laid down on it's side. Hopefully it was not your household goods. And nobody was hurt.

         Now the Las Cruses Rest area always works for us. about noon, time to make lunch , walkabout and of course take another picture of this huge roadrunner that we love to see.

        Back on the road and leaving New Mexico

now into Texas for a while
the Texas Panhandle 

      Making our way through El Paso seems to take forever and the construction here has been going on for years, but no traffic delays.

      Stopped at the Flying J east end of El Paso to top up our gas tank so we good to go in the morning. Only 13 more miles too the rest area that we have stayed at before . Got there at 2 pm , but now 3 pm with the time change.  Good enough for today. Besides it;'s soon happy hour.
      Parked here, nice that we don't need to open our slide or disconnect the car. Right beside the interstate and some road noise, but we have had worse.

      After walking about and checking the area we grabbed our chairs to sit the the shade of the picnic areas. Wonderful and a very nice cool breeze. It was 86f here and 91F in the coach.

hey this is a wonderful place to relax with our books.

       Supper tonight we decided on a stir fry, mess of veggies, some rice,  spices and some f our leftover chicken. Sure hit the spot.

      After supper we enjoyed an wonderful sunset right outside out dining room window.

      The perfect ending to a perfect travel day.
