What a wonderful day we have in store for us. After a good nights sleep up early as usual. Checked e mails and stuff, waiting for the sunrise and a nice walkabout the park. Down by the lake/ponds and love the morning mist over the water. Looking to see if I can spot the resident alligator., It is only a bab about 4 ft long, but all the times I looked dud not have any luck.just a 100 yards from our site |
love the porches and rocking chairs on each one |
larger cabins as well |
This state park looks so nice, lots of great sites with full hookups , a boat launch ramp and many people out on the water on a perfect day for fishing on the lake.
channel to the lake |
Then walkabout our park for a bit and the soon time for lunch/ brunch.
Now it is a Sunday and a treat we used to do every Sunday. Bacon and eggs. So fired up our Weber Q, shredded some baked potatoes we had in the fridge. Fried up a bit of bacon. fried the taters then the eggs on our grill mat. The weather was perfect for it 80f by 11 am and no wind. just gotta do it ! Not a big deal for me when I use to cook up 25 dozen eggs for breakfasts, almost every Saturday morning for 10 years.
our grill mat sure works really well for some things and this is one of them why go out when I can cook it better at home for a lot less money? |
very tasty brunch for us |
perfect afaternoon |
this is the life |
Enjoying our reading, a couple dropped by to chat for a bit with their doggies, to say hi again. Missed a pic cause I was fooling with the thermostat.
Soon time for supper tonight turkey burger for Suzie and a Chirozo burger for me. (the fresh chirozo I bought from the butcher in Borrego Springs California )and I made burgers for me, to spicey for Suzie.
our Weber Q does the trick again |
burgers loaded and a salad, we fed up ! |
Thanks for stopping on by and hope y'all had a wonderful day too !
When we back to Canada?April 13th
Where have we been this Winter
I'll also plug your CRC Electronic Cleaner, I follow it with a coating of dielectric grease and the cleaning seems to last longer than you report ... of course that could be my mild climate :) On those warm days it sure is nice to be able to cook outside. BTW - the crowds in BS were not worth the effort to pick up some chorizo, it's pretty common in the local markets. Safe Travels!
ReplyDeleteI will keep that in mind Jeff., the cleaning usually goo for a year our two, nice easy fix. I like to cook outside as much as I can year round. Other than in the southwest good chirozo is hard to find.
DeleteWhat a great few days and the weather being so good. Your breakfast makes me hungry...love me some bacon and over easy eggs.
ReplyDeleteBreakfast was tasty, the over easy eggs for Suzie.
DeleteGreat pictures of the green grass, trees, flowers, and the water. In a couple of weeks we will be gone from the desert area and we will miss it. Then as we travel east and north we will start getting anxious to see the forest and Lake Michigan. The best of both worlds.
ReplyDeleteWe do have the best of both worlds, miss the desert but do enjoy all the greenery a lakes as well. When to gets too hot there you will be glad to be heading back north.
DeleteSounds like summer already in Arkansas. Our weather here in Missouri, changed to cool and rain for the next few days. Sure it will be the same in Illinois when I get there later today. Good luck getting a picture of that resident alligator.
ReplyDeleteIt is perfect weather , no complaints here. I will keep looking but they are pretty elusive.
DeleteAbout 10 more days before we head through Illinois.
Nice day in Arkansas, George. Good to enjoy the heat while we can. it would be interesting to see and alligator (from a distance) not on your doorstep. :) Enjoy your relaxing days until travel time.
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying the warm weather, and taking our time heading home. Doubt I will spot the gator, but like to look anyway.
DeleteYou guys travel safe as well.
You can repair almost anything.
ReplyDeleteI like to at least give it a good try, I do have the time and the tools.
DeleteWhen we were at that park we went to http://www.historicwashingtonstatepark.com for a drive and look around. It was nice in the fall must be beautiful now in the spring.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about going there, will see how the weather is.
DeleteHm..blooming trees...what I would love now. Still 2 almost months to wait for it out here.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is nice to see at this time of year.
DeleteFrying eggs on the grill mat just cracks me up! Sure looks tasty. Gotta get me some chorizo, that sounds like a tasty burger.
ReplyDeleteEggs on the grill mat works good for me, no mess in the house. The chorizo sure does make a tasty burger, with a nice kick to it, yummy!
DeleteDefinitely a perfect day. Sure would be a ice day for someone to come stay in a cabin to join you for a week or so.
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful day and the cabins would be nice if someone wanted to join us here.
DeleteLooks like you certainly did luck out with a nice place to stay. Nice views too.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy hanging out here at this time of year.
