No rain, no Sandy, Sunshine and warm..

Where are we today ?
Today was suppose to be, rain windy and overcast and we were ready for it. Packed up and on the road shortly after 8:30am to beat the weather. But to our surprise it was an awesome day to tour.

234 miles (376 kms)
Headed on down the road thru Charlotte North Carolina, sunshine and a great travelling day.
Charlotte NC
Crossed into South Carolina and enjoyed the day, just love heading on down the road!
Visitor Center
nice road and no traffic, all is good!
Stopped by a few rest areas, most were busy and fill of rv's and cars.
Rest area
Got the Walmart in Walterboro South Carolina around 2 o'clock, already two other RV's parked here for the night. by 3:30- 4 o'clock there was 35 RV's parked here in the parking lot! We Did our shopping here and the Dollar Tree across the parking lot, fueled up at Murphys gas bar. Chatted with a few other rv'ers from Canada that spoke English and relaxed for a bit of a Happy Hour between our rigs.
Soon time for Christmas !
Yep it's nice here
More rigs coming in, Car on the roof!
extra car
Bike on the truck
A view of the parking lot, it is beginning to fill up.
As the sun began to set it was about 5 o'clock, time to fire up the oven, bake a chicken Kiev, some Ramen noodles with peas, and a fresh tossed salad for a very tasty supper.
Yummy Chicken Kiev for supper
That's it for another nice travel day, relax in "Camp Walmart" for a bit and hit the road further south on the morning.
Glad you could drop bu for a visit.

  1. Wow! That is a lot of RVs in a Walmart lot.. Be thankful you are not here in Ontario. The weather. Is absolutely foul. Heavy rain and strong winds, but then I guess we can be thankful we are not in New York! Safe travels.

  2. Do you think some of the RV's are there because they are moving away from Sandy? I have never seen so many RV's in a Walmart since our RV park fled the Kelowna fires in 2003.

  4. Great to hear you missed Hurricane Sandy - good planning on your part. I'm just watching it on TV and it's pretty scary. The roads and hiways are going to be a mess for a bit.

    1. He has a ramp from the back of the box and a winch to pull it up there.

  6. I love heading south too. I love seeing all the people and their unique modes of travel. The pictures of the little car on the pickup was a real winner.

  7. Wow. Looks likes getting in early to "camp Walmart" is the way to go. I guess they don't mind the extra sales and the parking lot must be huge.
