If you checkeed out yesterdays posting you would have seen an awesome Walmart Sunset, and now this morning we had and another awesome Walmart sunrise!. Almost wants us to stay at this Walmart here in Wytheville, but maybe not, many more places to see and explore.

First stop today was a Flying J, grab a bit of fuel and scrub the bugs off the windshield. Oh yeah and off course the usual "P" break after all the morning coffees and tea.

Now a leisurely drive heading to Salisbury NC for an nice 5 night stay. But we have a 7 mile decline heading out of the Blue Ridge mountains. Many Runaway truck lanes here just in case your brakes fail. This is a good thing for sure.

So stopped by the visitor center , asked for info on nice places to see and we are filled with loads on info.

We arrived at Bass Lake Rv resort and the owner was there to greet us. A very friendly fellow and so much fun checking in. Their season is pretty well done but we have a couple sites all to ourselves, full hookups and 50 amp service, part of our membership parks, love free camping including free hi speed wifi to!

We were set up before noon, and puttered around for a while, fixed a few issues with Rob and Pat's battery problems then, time for Happy hour.

Our Weber is doing its job, baking potatoes amd grilling our pork roast for tonights supper.
All done with some frozen peas and apple sauce we have an amazing home cooked meal!

A nice short travel day and we will kinda relax here for 5 nights, just waiting to head to the RV Rally at Daytona Speedway on Oct 31st. Gonna be too much fun.

ReplyDeleteWe've overnighted many times at the Wytheville Walmart on our way between NJ and Louisiana. I have 2 nephews who live in Wytheville and one of their wives work at the Walmart.
ReplyDeleteThat stretch on highway between VA and NC is hairy. Done that many times also in our travels.
Looks like you found a good place to settle for a few days.
Works good for us, relax and enjoy the area for a while.
