Friday and great weather in New York !!

Where are we today ?
Lazy Lakes Resort Lockport NY.
Today's posting is later than usual because, we were too busy having fun last night to put it all together.

A wonderful morning, bright sunny and warm, gotta love it for this time of year.
this morning by the ponds
Walkabouts enjoying the resort and then our friend Bill took us for a tour today, by their house in Clarence Center New York.
Bill gave us a great tour of the fire hall with all the facilities they have here for the volunteers. They are truly volunteers and don't get paid for the services, but after his 38 years (currently he is President  of the Fire company)of service he will receive some benefits. A tour Bill gave us of this state of the art facility was impressive. From the exercise room, lounge, and games rooms, dance hall, meeting and training rooms and great kitchen facilities. Even their fire trucks and rescue vehicles are amazing.
The fatal crash of Flight 3407  (Feb 12th, 2009) happened 720 feet away from the firehall and they were there almost instantly for quite a while. If you are interested you can read a first hand report from the incident commander by clicking HERE.

The outside grounds, picnic areas and ball diamonds are impressive, even a memorial here with a huge pice of steel from the World Trade Center.

After the fire hall tour a stop at my favourite store here, Adventures in heat.  They have some great BBQ's there but my interest is in all of the hot pepper sauces that he has. If you like this kind of stuff he has an amazing selection, free tasting and tons of information on all the different types of peppers and hot sauces available.
I now have a great selection if incredible hot sauces
Back home mid afternoon I wanted to wash our muddy car and coach but not allowed  in the campground on friday, sat and sunday. So I took the car to a carwash and got lotsa mud removed from the country roads at the farm. A nice Happy hour with Bill and Barb then time to fire up our Weber again for some potatoes in foil with onions, carrots in foil, and a couple grilled pork chops for a wonderful tasty supper.

tasty
Now after supper Bill got the fire going and we all huddled around, keeping warm, telling stories, waiting for other friends and family to arrive, and arrive they did. We chatted a bit more then decided it was time for us to call it a night, (10:30 way past my bedtime) even with the fire and our hoodies it was getting cold.
gotta love campfires and friends
That was another fun day we had with friends, so glad you stopped by.

    1. The Predator sauce is made with extracts and is just plain hot. The other two are actually much hotter but have flavour.
