Where are we today?
Stratford, Ontario
Geo had a good sleep again last night.
This morning before breakfast, his nurse wanted to know if he wanted a shower. He said that would be great. Shortly having some breakfast, off he went for his shower. Even though he was exited about the shower, it wasn't as much fun as he thought it would be. Unfortunately, even with getting the water temperature correct, he was cold. It took him a while to warm back up. He was very tired when he got back and had a snooze.
Gerry and Melinda from Rock Glen arrived for a morning visit (minus Tucker). They wanted to visit as they are leaving for Florida on Tuesday. We had a great visit. When saying goodbye, Melinda got a hug and Gerry, well, he said he wouldn't hug George but would shake his hand. Geo proceeded to stick his tongue out at him. We all got chuckles out of that.
In the afternoon, his 2 oldest children arrived for a visit. Great conversation. We had a happy hour. Geo shared one of his beers and he had one himself. I brought in his beer cup which would keep it nice and cold. His daughter took a picture of our 4 cups, but for some reason I have lost the picture. On the beer can is what he says is his prescription for beer.
Supper arrived. It was pasta with hamburger and sauce as well as a salad. His daughter and I were there to assist him if he needed help. We sat there and were talking when we realized he ate the whole thing. A very good surprise. Of course, I forgot to get a picture of the before. He has always taken the pictures. Picture taking will be something I will need to do more of.
He ate the whole thing. Good Job
His daughter and I went out for supper. We went to Demetries Family Eatery. I had liver and onions with mashed potatoes and cauliflower. I have enough liver left over for another meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the company.
One Day At A Time
After laying in bed for a few days, taking a shower is a whole lot of work. But when you finally get rested it feels so good. Nice to see your appetite is rebounding. Hope the food is okay. Certainly won't match up to your cooking. Praying for you every day.
ReplyDeleteHi George. Nice to see your smiling face this morning. Glad you had a little walkabout.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that both George and yourself had a good day.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you enjoying company and a beer.Hugs
ReplyDeleteAfter being in bed for so long just taking a Shower would have worn George out. Glad you both had a good day visiting with Family and Friends. Nice that George ate his entire meal.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you both in our Prayers.
It's about time.
Good to see that smiling face and the empty plate!! I'm happy to see you have lots of visitors and help. I know how it is with picture taking. We're just happy you are including us in your family! Prayers heading your way.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to see that smiling face. Hope that appetite continues for you and enjoy that beer. I am sure you enjoyed your visit from Gerry and Melinda, and I can see the shenanigans between Gerry and George are alive and well. Prayers and hugs my friends.
ReplyDeleteBill said it all above. I love the smiles too, George. Company is wonderful and keep eating! :)
DeleteWonderful to hear about good days like this one, and to see George eating and smiling his big happy smile. Thank you again, Suzie, you are doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteGreat day for all of you! Now that George has his appetite back, maybe you can request something from his Weber for dinner? Continued best wishes and prayers!
ReplyDeleteSeems to me if George is having a wee walk about (even to the shower), drinking beer, eating and smiling he is doing well. Good job George. We are rooting for you!!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you up and about George guess our prayers are getting answered . Thanks for the update Sue.
ReplyDeleteI"m not so sure George ate everything. I'm thinking he stuck some food under his pillow for a midnight snack when nobody was looking. Might even find an extra can of beer under that pillow too. Keep em guessing George and keep pluggin.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing good Suzie. Need a picture of that sticking out tongue for the blog.
ReplyDeleteI love your smiles George. Even though it wore you out, I bet you enjoyed the shower once you were back in bed and had warmed up. It's good to see you were able to eat your meal too. I think about you often and continue to keep you in my prayers! I am grateful to Suzie who keeps us all up to date.
ReplyDeleteBeing bedridden saps the energy for sure.
ReplyDeleteBless you Suzie.
A shower, a visit with friends & family, a beer and dinner. What a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to hear what a great day this was for George and also for you and his family to see him eat his dinner and enjoy a beer not to mention flashing that trademark smile of his.
ReplyDeleteThank you Suzie for all you do.
Sounds like a great day!
ReplyDeleteFrom my calculations, you're due for another 6-pack soon George! Hope someone is paying attention to that detail! Get Well Wishes and Prayers from me to you and Suzie. Melissa
ReplyDeleteAnother good night. And a shower. Sending you positive thoughts George.
