Where are we today?
Stratford, Ontario
A little later his sister, brother-in-law, brother, nephew and niece came for a visit as well. Great conversation flowing back and forth.
Geo was tired after all the visiting and had his first beer after everyone left. We didn't have enough for everyone so we didn't share. Thanks to his brother for bringing 6 for Geo. The hospital staff put them in the fridge with Geo's name on each can as well as the cooler bag.
More good memories created today.
Thanks for all your prayers and best wishes.
One Day At A Time
Thinking and praying for you both. Remembering back to when we first met many years ago, you were both the most hospitable campers anyone would ever want to meet. You provided the kids with warm blankets around the campfire, made hotdogs and pies over the fire with them. I've never seen you with anything but the big smile on your face! You deserve the best camper award! 🏆
ReplyDeleteThat's a great picture. I love that the hospital is letting him have a beer!! I hope he enjoys every single mouthful! Keep smiling George ... we are all behind you 100%. Sending more hugs and prayers to you both.

Cheers George! Glad you have a six pack cooling in the fridge. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have such a wonderful visit. :)
Cheers George! I will hoist one in your honor this afternoon...
ReplyDeleteGreat to see George in such great spirits. A beer a day will keep the doctor away, or maybe that's an apple a day. Either way, have a great day George.
ReplyDeleteWe are also sending our love and best wishes to George. Although we cannot visit in person we hope the notes on your comments section will brighten your day and make you feel loved by your RV friends all over the country. Hope you have another good day!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the spirits (not just emotionally but the beer too!). Behave yourself and get well soon. We need your blog posts!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are getting good memories Suzie ... enjoy your beers with George!

I hoist my Diet Pepsi to you George! Thinking of you both and wishing you sunshine. Melissa
ReplyDeleteNever heard of the hospital keeping beer for a patient. That’s a pretty cool idea.
ReplyDeleteHey, party time at the hospital. Maybe you can bring in a fake firepit to add to the ambience. Cheers to you as I raise my wine glass, once full glass for George and now another for Suzie. We had a gorgeous sunset the other night here at Tres Amigos. Thought of you both.
ReplyDeleteBeen so long since I had a beer George I probably wouldn't know which end of the can to open. When my Mother was in a nursing home she had the Nurses keep a bottle of Baileys for her daily nightcap. Of course she always accused the Nurses of taking a nip on the side. I hope they don't do that with your beer. Better keep a close count on those cans, you know what those frisky Nurses are like. Nice to see you are continuing your Happy Hours:))
ReplyDeleteWOW YOU sure had a house full how wonderful and you even were gifted with a 6 pk. That a special hospital you in. Around here they don't even like people bringing in food. Keep smiling George and Suzie and I'll keep sending my deepest thoughts to you both and prayers always.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you enjoying friends and a beer. Keep those smiles coming!
ReplyDeleteI have to tell this story with all the talk about beer. My Dad was in the hospital about 50 years ago. My Mom was there when the doctor came to see how my Dad was doing. My Dad said, "I'd sure feel better if I could have my beer." The doctor said, sure thing, and turned to my mother and said bring him a 6 pack tomorrow. My Mother was shocked. Then the doctor said "I'll tell the nurse to put it in the refrigerator at the end of the hall, and whenever he wants some he can walk down and get it. Then he turned to my Mom, and said it is so hard to get these older patients to get out of bed and take a walk, so I jump at any opportunity. Two or three times a day my Dad would shuffle down the hall to have a sip of beer. He was discharged about 3 days later.
