Friday, 15th Update

Where are we today ?
Stratford, Ontario

Yesterday was not a really good day for Geo. He was very sleepy.

The doctor was concerned about his condition and asked me if he had any family. He wanted to discuss his condition. He gave me a preview of his thoughts. I called one of his daughter’s, she talked with her siblings. His daughter’s were able to come to the hospital and we had a  discussion with the doctor. His son was on the phone, so he was able to hear everything that was said. The family and the doctor, then talked with George to find out what his wishes are when things go bad.

A daughter, son and myself will have further discussions today to put in place options that are available to us.

It was a tough and long day yesterday, but we all got through it.

I called the hospital this morning and for us we good news that he was able to walk to the washroom several times last night.

  13. It's a difficult road you and Suzie are on right now as well as your family members. I can't tell you everything is going to be alright and I can't tell you better days are ahead. I can only tell you George that I feel very sad today after reading Suzie's latest update. No matter what happens you have been and are a positive inspiration and example to many of your fellow RVing Bloggers and readers of your posts. I for one thank you for all your comments over the years. Your smile, your vests, and yes those hats. Foodies, Webber Q's, Happy Hours and Walkabouts have all taken on new meaning for many of us. You have brought many enjoyable reading moments and chuckles to all your fellow readers. You and Suzie have blazed your own RVing trails for others to follow. I hope you two can at some point continue to blaze more of those trails but if not just know that you are truly loved by all of us out here. Keep up those Awesome Travels George no matter where they may lead you now.

  15. Thank you Suzie for sharing and updating your huge RV family. It hurts us all knowing that George is sick and we are helpless hearing that he is suffering. Tell him he is loved by so many and his posts have been an inspiration to us all and so were his yummy BBQ creations. Sending our love and best wishes.

  18. I sill remember fondly that day in Texas Big Bend country when Suzie and George with his big infectious smile and huge hat came through the door of that restaurant after he had noticed our motorhome parked outside. I was the first time Norma and I met George and Suzie and the hour or so we spent together went by too quickly. It was followed by several more meetings in the Quartzite area over the years when we shared all kinds of RVing information.

Wherever your future travels may take you George know that you have so many friends thinking of you! We are all lucky we live in Canada where choices are available to us.

  27. I think Al said it best George. He voiced the thoughts I couldn't put into words. I remember the first time we met at Quail Ridge RV Park. I noticed you standing there watching us as we pulled in not more than a couple of spots away. That big straw hat and your charming grin atop of that multi pocketed vest left me with no doubt who you might be. You and Suzie have served as Ambassadors of RV'ers for a long time, answering questions, offering advice and just being kind people. A positive fella that sees the good in everything and everyone. You have enriched many lives and I am honoured and fortunate to call you my friend. Your illness brings sadness to us all, but our memories bring smiles and maybe a laugh or two. Keep up the fight George.

  29. I just realized now that we have finally arrived at Stone Island or the Isla as many of us call it that we met you both exactly 10 years ago. You have both packed an enormous amount of activities into those ten years and have created untold memories.
