Another great day, tests done and all is almost good.

After yesterday's beautiful weather we had rain overnight , making for another good sleep , Rain drops on the roof are so soothing. And still raining this morning so no early walkabout.                               Shortly after 9 am it had stopped so I headed for a walkabout, got only 2 blocks done and started to sprinkle a bit, about face and back home again, Oh well I had good intentions.
We puttered around for a while, purged some photos and did a time machine backup on my Mac Book.
Then I headed into Kitchener for my yearly eye tests at 12 noon.  Hey I have something new! Cataract in my right eye developing. So we set the process in place to see the specialist to have this done. Now here in Ontario takes about 10 months get this done, so may as well start now.
Next in my agenda I headed to New Hamburg for my yearly hearing test. Yup I am still deaf no changes just a few setting change done to my hearing aides and I should be good until the next time. The joys of getting older, I am luckier than some that do not get   to enjoy these health issues.
Back home by 3 pm and reading outside on an almost sunny warm afternoon 62 F is pretty good. Waiting to hear from Suzie to head on home.
I picked her up at  6 pm, and we decided on supper at the Trails Edge in town , always great food here.
 a Cold brew to start
shared a small ceasar salad
seafood pasta for Suzie we will take some home
my fish and chips was excellent
Now we home by 7:30 pm enjoy some outside for a bit . Cooling down now into the high 50;s F Time to wrap up our day and head on inside for the night
Glad that you  dropped bye for a visit.

What an awesome night we had, bedroom windows open, fantastic fan running and we both slept like a log. As usual up early got the coffee and stuff done took the garbage out and hopped in the car at 7:30 am to head to my Chiropractor in Waterloo DR. Sean Delange he took over from my previous Chiropractor Bruce Wand after I had seen him for over 34 years.  Sean is amazing using all the new techniques. I  needed to allow some extra time for rush hour traffic especially around the University of Waterloo. Sean did some major adjustments on my back and mentioned that there is some bursitis  in my right hip. So I have a few exercises and will put ice on it  for 10 minutes avery few hours. As of 6 pm I feel much better already at least I can get up and walk around with very little pain. And the rest of my back is all tuned up. Almost brand new again! Thanks Sean !
7:30 am a nice morning sunrise on my way.
Before I left I added all the veggies and spices to the large pot of chicken broth I made last night and just let it simmer for a couple hours, Suzie home here to keep and eye on it anyway.
Home by 9:30 and finished off the soup for an early lunch. And of course lotsa leftovers for a few more lunches.
this is nice hearty Stewoup
tasty steoup, apple and banana yummy
Got lunch  done then I headed into New Hamburg for another follow up eye exam at 11:50 am. 3rd one this year, a few adjustments were made and he noticed I may have the beginnings of cataracts , Not to worry for a few more years, (oh the joys of getting older). At least this is all paid for by our government health care.
love the back country roads around here
Now it is back home and relax with our e-readers and some ice packs on my hip every once in a while . The temperature did get to 95F (35C) but not too bad here at all in the shade with still a very nice light breeze. You know it is nice out when Suzie is wearing shorts!
A bit later to the Hardware store in town to fill our jug of RO purified water. And saw some snow ! Ok not really snow but from the arena when they clean the ice and dump it outside, It sure is melting pretty fast in this hot weather.
Snow looks great from here in the heat
just enjoying our E-books and the quiet view
Now because we can, having a craving supper tonight, Hot dogs and homemade french fries, We have the Fry Daddy so why not? A rare occasion any more but a nice treat.
Love this Fry daddy
one hot dog each is all we need
Of course our dogs are loaded, mayo, tomato, onions, mustard, relish and peanut butter, Suzie chooses cheese whiz over peanut butter, they did the trick, with a few fries.
was a perfect meal for a hot summer day
Now that was an amazing first day of fall, Heck I thought it was yesterday. This is the weather we can enjoy, for some people too hot, No need for  air conditioning when we can enjoy this shade outside, plus not enough power for the A/C anyway.
Here we are still outside shorts and sandals after 7:50 pm in the shade enjoying our reading and posting this blog. Gotta read our here a bit more listening to the cricket symphony. Still wonderfully warm too and no bugs!
Thanks for taking the time to check us out and hope y'all had a great day as well.

Where have we been this summer ?

Friday, April 21, 2017

Not much happening today, just doing what we do best, and got a thorough eye exam.

Where are we today ?

The rain stopped overnight and was about 42f (5c) But today today mostly cloudy and a slight drizzle off and on.
At 8 am took the car to Pettigrew's Garage to get Dale to check out the front end making some noise, and all looks pretty good except will need one new ball joint. He will get it in next week and check the brakes at that time that might be due as well. We have only done the brakes once at 430,000 kms (267,000 miles), this 2002 Saturn has been treating us very good so far.
Then picked up a few groceries and puttered around setting up our new Bell Turbo hub for internet. Quick and easy set up to secure it, no issues and find it is much faster than our Roger's wireless one and will be a bonus when going to other places where the Rogers does not work that well if at all.
While I did this Suzie got her new I phone all set up, of course she loves it and both of these devices were free with the 2 year contract that works perfect for us. Save money all around and get better service too.
this the hub and works wonderful
Just a light lunch, more bean soup was perfect on a cool damp day.
Even got some quality reading time in (not outside though) and off to New Hamburg at 2;30 PM to have my eyes tested, its been quite a while. That took an hour for the complete test and no cost to us, being a senior now has it's privileges. Eyes are good and slight prescription change on my glasses will research that to see if we get new lenses or wait till next winter. Maybe sooner than later.
Back home by 4:30 and time to whip up supper, still to cool to sit out side, so tonight a tasty Fettuccini Alfredo with some  fresh cooked shrimp and a salad. Sure did the trick again.
one of Suzi'e Favourites.
The day just slipped on by, no major rain was good, but some sunshine and a bit warmer would be better. We know that's coming shortly so just patiently waiting.
No noticeable sunset tonight still over cast. So this blog is posted and we can enjoy some more reading for a bit and maybe even a show on the tube before calling it a night.
Thanks for stopping by and hope y'all had a wonderful day as well.
