Where are we today ?
Woke up this morning long before the sunrise and did not look out side until daylight happened. Almost 2 inches of this white fluffy stuff. These pics are for Leslie in Australia .opened the door and this is what we saw |
our poor Weber Q |
still coming down |
looks like a black and white picture, so pretty |
Then as the sun was rising it began to melt quickly. |
Look at how much on our antenna ball |
not on the road is a good thing |
At 11:30 my son and 2 of his buddies Lenox and Paul stopped in for a visit. They had come from Toronto for Octoberfest celebrations in Kitchener. Like they have done for close to 15 years. Guys night out and always nice that they can make the time to drop by and see the "Old Man" and Suzie. Such a wonderful visit we had, chatting with the guys and catching up. By this time most of that white stuff was all gone and the sun shining, wonderful but still too chilly to sit outside.
I fired up our Weber Q and grilled Turkey burgers and added some potato salad and coleslaw. Of course gotta have all the toppings for the burgers.
sure hit the spot |
L-R , Paul, Ken, Lennox |
Now with sun shining all that white stuff is gone and the weather guessers predict milder weather for the next while. Sure hope they are right. We on the road Wednesday morning. Taking our time to the southwest. Not sure which way we going or exactly where but that's not a big deal (have close to 700 membership parks to stay at 70 free and the rest 9 to $15. dollars a night) we will play in by ear and enjoy the journey, just looking for a few new areas and sunshine we are easy to please. Did a bit of researching and weather checking and travel route options. It can change day by day, thats the fun of it. Never know for sure where we will be, hopefully sunny and warmer than here.
We can go now have had our winter wonderland fix and hope to see no more this winter.
Now a late supper tonight is a bowl of popcorn and an apple, a tradition thats Suzie loves, we had enough to eat at lunch and this just hit the spot.
that white stuff is all gone now, and the sun shinning |
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Spring and Summer.
Glad the white stuff cleared up for you. Not something you need when traveling.
ReplyDeleteOur high for today only reached 43 F (6 C) but at least the sun came out.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
The sun was very nice, made the grass green again.
DeleteLooks just like it did here yesterday! Except we have to stay here and live theough it all winter!
ReplyDeleteDon't want to stay here anymore in the cold, will keep going as long as we can.
DeleteThe snow IS/WAS pretty, but I like the kind that melts quickly. Safe travels for your journey to the Southwest next week! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl.
DeleteIt was pretty nice to see it come and nice to se it go.
Wow! Thanks for the pics....the snowy trees would make great Xmas cards. Hope your southbound travel commences without a hitch. I will be interested in your progress and many thanks for my shout out and photos.
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Leslie, it was a beautiful winter morning. Now that we have seen it we can head south any time, and Wednesday is the day.
DeleteI am so ready for your travels to the south west. Bring it on!
ReplyDeleteWe are too, but need to be patient even though it is pretty hard for us. We will be on the road Wednesday, no hurry to get to the southwest, just want to get, somewhere / anywhere. And enjoy some warmer weather than here.
DeleteI'm hoping that's the last of the snow that you will see over this winter. Traveling in it is no fun. I'm sure the excitement is already building on heading south. There are many places to stay along the route for sure. Flexibility is the key.
ReplyDeleteWe hope so too.
DeleteDon't much wanna drive in that's for sure.
So many places to stay, the possibilities are endless.
Our daughter has snow in Chardon, Ohio all day Saturday. Don't miss that stuff at all.
ReplyDeleteNice to break bread with a family member and his good buddies.
We have seen it now we can go anytime now.
DeleteWas fun to see my son and his buddies again.
The white stuff triggers your juices to get heading south, no doubt. Nice visit with your son and his buddies.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm.
Was a great visit.
DeleteWe sure ready to get on the road, Wednesday it is, slowly make our way south and west.
