Cactus Characters, warm temps, and some minor coach repairs.

Where are we today ?
Another great day here in the desert sure can't beat that. Early walkabouts just enjoying the peace a quiet here and more excellent sunrises. Just checking out the scenery to see what I can see. Came across a few interesting Saguaro cactus formations looking like fun characters. Let me know what you think?
2 arms, eyes, ears and eyebrows
crooked mouth maybe?
have a gift for you?
and of course the sunrise
Had an appointment for 10 am at Rv lifestyles just down the road about a mile to have a new fan motor installed in our furnace. It was squealing something fierce.
good service and reasonable prices
they also sell and service atv's as well
We were taken in right away at 10 am sharp am Mike the mechanic got right to work. I was able to watch how he did it and glad it was him and not me.very friendly and also gave me a few tips for service.
the furnace cover
he has the right tools and knows his job.
not easy but got it done

While here got him to replace the pressure relief valve for our hot water tank as well. Its been leaking for quite a while. Again he had the right tools.
fan motor on left almost ceased and the relief valve
calcium built up after 16 years hard water
Now that was done right and all works like it is supposed to, Furnace runs super quiet and no more water leaks. Done in 90  minutes $150.00 parts and a bit less for labor. Thats US dollars about another 40% for us Canadians but needed to be done and we are happy with the work and service here. We good to go now.
While this was being done Suzie headed down to Main street and got her hair trimmed like she does 2-3 times a year, very friendly there a reasonable too.
Back the same spot we were at before just down the road (free camping), set up made lunch and Suzie back to the Chiropractor for a 12:30 adjustment.
back to home dirt
for the rest of the day
this bird kept hanging around
all afternoon, singing for us
Did managed to get some more quality reading time in the shade until time to fire up our Weber Q. Grill a couple Garlic Turkey sausage added to our salad for supper.
love this garlic sausage
And just as supper was done we got to enjoy another colorful desert sunset.
this is what we love about the southwest
Just more fun in the sun, not humid, not too hot, free camping and we got some repairs done too.
Tomorrow we head about 90 miles south just west of Yuma to Pilot Knob Resort for 2 weeks. More free camping.
        Thanks for stopping by again.

Quiet here, some early swap meets and just more sunshine, that's why we love it here. Even time to read in the shade

Another excellent day here in the desert what's not to love about this? Much warmer at 5 am today 40 f, almost a heatwave, then when the sun comes up couple hours later over 70f, wonderful. The desert just the way we like it.
Morning walkabout for an hour enjoyed the sun rising and new views we have not seen before.
another great sunrise
That's Dome rock a couple miles away from us
I ran a few errands and home by 9am puttered around, removed a door hinge and added a couple washers to raise the entry door a bit seems to work much better now.
Then a nice early brunch and awesome weather we wandered over to Tyson Wells, check out a few vendors. Lots are set up an many more to come, nice right now with no crowds.
rocks. stones, gems. minerals it all here
most not too cheap, but fun to look at
a few vendors to check out
nothing we can do without though
this the food court in January,
pretty quiet now, a zoo then
Was nice just to wander about, fresh air sunshine and checking things out.
Then over I-10 to Main street first time we have been her to Hi Ali. Now this is a swap meet. Junk, lots junk but some good deals to be had if you look hard enough. Guess we did not look hard enough nothing we needed.
Tye Die T Shirts maybe ?
nice fire truck?$325.00 !
I had that one when I was a child
wish I had it now
That's enough looking today. Home to relax in the shade have some serious reading that needs to be done. Between chapters I dropped our solar panel, batteries fully charged for today.
nice view from the roof
of our huge campsite
While reading so quiet we hear the Gamble's Quails scurrying around behind our coach from the bushes. Almost sounds like a bunch of quiet chickens. They are so cool to watch then always in a group.
the quails come scurrying out of here
Now you know whats next, time to start supper. Tonight a couple of very tasty smoked pork chops right from the butcher counter at the Quartzsite General store. These chops are excellent! Last feed until we get back here next year.
wrapped in butcher paper too
4-5 minutes a side and perfect,
sauerkraut for me in foil
Just added to a salad and sure hit the spot, leftovers too.
Not a great sunset plus my pics did not turn out very good. But our day did that's all that matters.
Thanks for stopping by again and hope your day was awesome too!

Time to move our 2 weeks are up. Not going far, just want free spot for a few days.

Where are we today ?
Another great day we are going to have. Our 14 day permit is done today so we can but another $40.00 for 2 weeks or move to the FREE 14 day area. Not only that we need propane and fuel for our coach, great timing. Dump our waste water, dispose of the garbage and refill our fresh water, then move on out.
We pulled into town today and the propane was only $1.99 a gallon, yesterday $2.04. Bonus, filled that and topped up our coach with gas. $2:15 a gallon even with the exchange rates we saving tons of money here.
We only need 3 days here in the area then to our resort in Pilot Knob for 2 weeks free camping. Plus we need to be here on Monday to get our furnace repaired at 10 am. So we headed out to Dome Rock one of the many 14 day free camping areas. Just down the road from the Rv dealer.
this is a very nice area
and we like free
this mornings sunrise was very nice
After gas for the coach and propane we are all settled into Dome Rock. So much space here nobody around we can only see 3 other rv's from where we are parked. Very little road noise from I-10 a perfect place to be.
now this is a huge site
love the view
Then we got comfortable enjoying our e-readers. Just finished a book and now starting this one below.
Then about 3:30 John and Barb stopped by for a visit here, Happy Hour ya know? They were shopping in Blythe and decided to stop on by another nice treat And more doggie fixes for Suzie as well . Super bonus!
Piper and Hank attack Suzie
Barb and John relaxing with us
for an hour or so
They headed home will see them at Pilot Knob in a few days. Then time for supper. Fired up our Weber Q grill a couple Turkey burgers to add to our salad.
Really love these Turkey Burgers
so tasty and lean
There ya go we moved on down the road new scenery and ready for some more relaxing time. We getting pretty good at that ya know after more than 9 years.
Thanks for stopping in and really hope you had a great day too.
