Where are we today ?
We both got a good sleep last night but the time change got us! I was up at 3:30 this morning instead of 4:30, And Suzie at 5:30 instead of 6:30. But we made good use of our time. Computing, emails, coffees, walkabouts and by 7:40am we ready to hit the road. Not a long travel day compared to what we have been doing only 187 miles.
|
Today only 187 miles |
The day started off with drizzly rain again for a few hours, but by 10 am it had pretty well stopped. No wind today again so made good time, a very good travel day. Stopped at every rest area to get out and stretch, check our tires etc, then carry on. Feels good to stretch every hour or so, my back and legs love it. Not only that we drink a lot of water and it has to go somewhere.
|
couple hours like this, not much traffic or scenery either |
|
Wonder if Pocahontas is still there? |
Then into Missouri before noon.
|
Our first sighting of the ARCH, maybe someday we will check it out. |
|
construction going on there |
|
wonderful roads and rolling hills |
|
This guy has his load covered as required, but the tailgate is down?? HMM... |

Downtown Rosebud Missouri |
Passed a few gas stations with very cheap gas and this one was easy access for us, towing the car, so pulled in and topped up our tank.
|
$1.87.9 ($2.47.9 Canadian) 65 cents a litre, love it ! |
|
taking the 5 miles into the Campground |
This the place, c
heck out the link to Lost Valley Lake (we found it, so its not lost anymore) if you care, click HERE it is amazing ! A membership campground that we can stay in 2 times a year up to 2 weeks at a time. Free for us, part of our membership. Fullhookups including 50 amp if you need it, and free high speed wifi. The facilities here are amazing too. But we are only staying 2 nights this time, have things we would like to do on down the road.
We were checked in and all set up by noon. Time to make a light lunch and putter around. Few minor repairs just cause I can and have the time.

First time we have done this and worked wonderful |
The afternoon skies cleared and we had sunshine, pretty warm temps too, perfect !
As I was prepping supper she spotted deer out the living room window not too far away. I did manage to get a quick shot, (not very good) before it headed into the woods.
|

Supper tonight on our Weber Q (finally) grilled cod fish fillets and acorn squash to go with our tasty salad.

A few things to do tomorrow and we head out Friday morning. Gonna be a wonderful day tomorrow so will make use of it.
Glad that you dropped in and said hi. Hope your day was as good as ours was.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
You are making good time. Before you know it, you'll be in the sunny Southwest. Keep those wheels a rolling and safe travels to you.
ReplyDeleteWe just stopped for a couple nights to enjoy the weather. And cool off our tires.
DeleteWOW...huge site! Lovely campground.
ReplyDeleteYou do need to stop and see the Arch. It is amazing.
Some day we will, I am sure.
DeleteThat most certainly is a huge site. Enjoy your time off the road.
ReplyDeleteWe always do,a nice place to hang out.
DeleteI like Madam Secretary too.
ReplyDeleteYou should have stopped and seen the Arch and the Budweiser buildings.
One of these day , just not this time.
DeleteYou certainly have your travel days worked out to perfection. Not to many miles each time makes for enjoyable journey.
ReplyDeleteWe have had a lot of practice and know what works for us, we do enjoy very much.
DeleteVery nice site! Pocahontas is the hometown of country singer Gretchen Wilson plus The Arch is celebrating its 50th...
ReplyDeleteYou are quite a few miles south of us as we are in west central IL. I used to have a penpal from Redbud many, many years ago. Safe travels!
Thanks Lady Dyna Ryder.
DeleteWe heard about the 50th celebrations today, but really did not want to get caught up in all the city traffic. After all we are country folks.
It's nice to stop and take a breather...and you found the perfect place to do that!
ReplyDeleteIt is a very nice place here, roomy and very quiet in the country.
DeleteLooks like a very nice park and a nice area to spend a few days. Looks like you're making a pretty straight line toward the Southwest.
ReplyDeleteIt is very nice here.
DeleteMore or less a straight line just a few zig zags here and there that we want to stop at.
Did you wave to our grandkids as you went past St. Louis? ;c)
ReplyDeleteIf we had of known we would have. Waved at the ARCh though.
