A snowy relaxing day here looking outside at this weather

Where are we today?
Stratford Ontario

After a good day yesterday another wonderful usual sleep and feels great. I know I was using my legs yesterday the muscles were telling me that and is part of my exercise project, A little bit every day works well.

So some puttering around , computing etc, wheel chair around coffee and stop by the Kitchen to chat with the cook Michael who made me 2 scrambled eggs and one piece of toast for my 8:30 am snack. Back home to get the walker and a few more laps just to loosen things up a bit.

Suzie called about  9:30 and said she may not come over today with all this weather, even though only 6 minutes away in good weather the visibility and roads were not that good, just told her whatever works for her stay safe and sound right were the is. Arrived about 10:30 am it is snowing and blowing there pretty good snow squalls, blowing and windy, causing drifting here and there. and just before noon we headed to the dining room she had her sandwich and soup, and I enjoyed a ham salad sandwich and even a bowl of his very tasty soup just hit the spot.
had been snowing overnight views this morning at sunrise
We were going to have company from London this afternoon but really did not expect him to show with all this snow and bad roads just to visit, better weather would be  much safer.

Enjoying the afternoon for a while reading for a bit chatting for  awhile watching the heavy snow falls. It let up shortly after 3 pm so she hopped in the car and headed on home while the going was good. Stopped for  a few things and was home safe and sound before 4 pm.  Another of these friendly nurses came in to give me my meds  (Val) and we chatted for a while and like all these wonderful care givers are so friendly they really make me feel so comfortable are interested caring for us both Suzie and I and the lifestyle we have enjoyed for the last 13 plus years. They sure make us feel at home.
Early breakfast at 3:30 this morning hit the spot
By 7:30 this morning the parking lot was plowed, before too many more comes.
parking lot looking good to start
Hanging around the kitchen chatting with Micheal is always fun watching him whip up a few orders here and there. Love his meal signs.
a tasty homemade soup this morning
sound interesting and was very tasty
both Lunch and supper looking good as well
early today not too bad outside
right now
then it was blowing and snowing
About 3 pm the nurse brought my Happy Hour Beverage kinda nice being this spoiled, they do control them and dish my beverages out to my 2 a day limit if I wish.
a tasty Craft beer for Happy Hour
Then at 4:45 I requested supper and here is came so very tasty and added my salad to top it off.
supper was excellent added my salad
and of course a bit of hot sauce
a nice habanero hot sauce souvenir from
 Borrego Springs California I enjoy
My hot sauce it a nice souvenir will miss that store as well as the best store made Chirozo I have ever tasted. I believe I have 1 or 2 more burgers still in the freezer. Sure hope so.

That was a very nice relaxing day no visitors watching the stormy weather outside and some quality time together with my honey, does not get much better than that here in this cold winter weather that will soon be much colder and snowy. And some freedom to do some inside walkabouts as well.

Want to thank y'all for taking the time to join us and hope you a had a wonderful day as well.

WTH, snow this morning??? But we did get back on the road and made our way further east with a good travel day.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
A very quiet night here at the Deming Walmart, cool and great for sleeping. Even with the time change I was still awake at 4 am, (41F) so puttered around for a while cereal, coffee, computing then waiting for the sun to come up got out for a walkabout the parking lot, no big rush today only going a couple hundred miles so just enjoying the quiet morning times here with my sweetie.
It was 7 am when I started my walking, but it was cold (now 33F) out there AND it started to snow! What the heck ? Ok I walked around the Walmart for about 45 minutes, much warmer there. Back home replaced a cupboard latch, then back to the store for a couple of grocery items I forgot yesterday and refill our RO water jug. Still snowing supposed to stop about 9am. Hmm not happening just large fluffy snow flakes. So at 9:30 we headed on out eastbound on I-10.
what is this whit stuff? at least it is not staying in the ground
So here we go other than the snow fluffies, dull day and some rain a good travel day no high winds like yesterday .
About 45 minutes later we pulled into the Las Cruses Rest area, to visit the Roadrunner again. We had missed him for a couple of years because he had deteriorated, and was rebuilt now with recycled materials, so cool to see especially up close.
love this Roadrunner
I walked about took couple of pictures then decided to make lunch. it was 10:30 but where we are going we will have another time change, so actually 11:30. Start adjusting now. This is 2 days in a row.
from the rest area looking to Las Cruses
A beautiful award winning rest area and a great place to stop for the night if the schedule suited us.
About an Hour later we exited New Mexico and Entered Texas , to whip through El Paso. Very little traffic and no slow downs, just a few miles 2 lanes due to construction but not a big deal.
Thanks for the views New Mexico
here we are Texas now
passed this cute water tower
snow in those mountains her in El Paso
Through the east end once through town we stopped at the Flying J to fuel up, Chatted with the fellow next to us from London Ontario , such a small world. Then back on the road again good travel day.
just cruising along I-10  pretty quiet and not much to see
any more, mind you we have driven
this for for 12 of our 13 years
but we can make good time.
Then now at 2:30 pm we pulled into the Van Horn Rest area (now 3:30pm local time) Parked and walked about for a bit stretch our legs. There was a fellow came by to ask for some money so he could get some gas for his car, he was pretty well on empty. Hmm. ok. I remembered 4 years ago helping a young fellow out on this stretch of road as well. He ran out of gas at the next rest area. So I told him we don't carry cash but I can give him 2 gallons of gas that I always carry. At least I know he got some gas and not cash for whatever. Think I did my good deed for today, makes me feel good anyway.
love the restrooms in these Texas rest areas
nice picnic shelters too
We enjoyed some afternoon reading  between walkabouts then at 5:30 time to whip up supper, Tonight an easy one, a small salad, and our leftovers from the Casino Del Sol in Tucson. Heated up my fish and chips in the fry pan and Suzie's Shrimp Alfredo, easy in the microwave. Push the button on the dash turn the genny on and poof her food is ready. We had scanned the TV stations but of course none here. Almost in the middle of nowhere , No problem plugged in our DVD played and will watch a movie tonight. No matter to me whatever Suzie wants is good with me.
quick easy and fresh tasting not soggy
this hit the spot and she even shared
a bit of her shrimp alfredo with me too
Maybe a sunset later, but is 7 pm already with time changes
If I get a sunset will post in tomorrow
We are still adjusting to these time changes 2 hours lost in 2 days, it will take some catching up  and still have another hour yet to go before we get home. We are now 1 hour behind Ontario.
All in all we had a wonderful travel day, got to where we wanted to be and relax get ready for a long travel day tomorrow, just because we can.
Thanks for joining our travels and hope you had a great day as well.

Where have we been this Winter?

Cold, windy and more freezing rain, frozen water pump, just nice to just hang out here.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Yup it got cold overnight 25 F (-4C) with the wind chill making it much colder.  We have been in this cold before with no issues but the cold wind hitting the side of our coach where the water pump is caused it to freeze up.  That compartment is heated if we ran our furnace more, but then we would be out of propane very quickly. So this morning I put a small electric ceramic heater in that compartment on low and in 15 minutes it is working again. Nice that we have a 15 amp electrical plug here. (thanks Dennis and Sandy) Cold water only to the Kitchen and bathroom taps. The hot water and toilet still not working yet. So I opened the door where the water heater is and put another small heater there on low and about 2 pm the toilet and hot water taps were working again.  But with this ENE 25 mph cold wind hitting that side of the coach across the fields with only some very tall maple trees not blocking it is not helping,  can sure hear the wind howling through the trees Wind from any other direction we are sheltered from. Go figure?
this about says it all for this spring in Canada
saw this on Facebook and just had to share
looking down the road this morning not nice
think we can just leave  our car right here today
later today still not nice
roads plowed but now icy
So a tasty lunch of more ham/bean soup and a quiet afternoon enjoying our e-readers. And watch a couple of Sunday afternoon movies on TV,  Arnold Schwarzenegger action movies that we enjoy, just like we did when we lived in the area on cold snowy winter Sundays years ago.
I did a couple short walkabouts for some fresh air and exercise, to check out the road that the snow plow has been down, but most of the day we had freezing rain and sleet. It did get up to 34F(+1C) for a bit. Glad we not going anywhere on these roads. We don't have winter tires or 4wd. Again did not get to see daughter number 2 but she understands will wait for a nicer day.
hmm, glad we not travelling now
icicles everywhere
Suzie went in to chat with Sandy this afternoon just before supper and Sandy loaned Suzie a very nice crocheted blanket that she made to keep Suzie's legs extra warm.
nice blanket Sandy , Thanks!
Eventually time for supper going to bake a large bone in chicken breast to share, like I do on our Weber Q (sure do miss using our Weber Q) and add to a tasty salad.
And it turned out wonderful so tasty and moist almost as good as on our Weber Q. And of course the salad is our salad.
this was excellent and  big enough to share
Not a bad day at all, yes it was cold, snowy etc, could be worse, outside but we cozy inside and enjoying this time together reading and watching a couple of action movies and a very tasty supper as well.
That was our spring ? Day here in Ontario maybe someday soon we will actually have a REAL spring day.
Wanna thank ya'll for dropping in on our almost ? nice day here in Ontario, Sure hope your weather was much better than this.

Snow stopped, roads good and back on the road with a very nice travel day

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
It was cold over night 26F at 5am (-3C) and we had a bit more snow but not too bad. We toasty warm inside so no problem there, much warmer when we don't have to open our slide.
After coffees, computing and a walkabout the Walmart for a few more purchases, checked out tires and lights,  secured our coach and hit the road at 8:15 am. The roads were good, dry, no wind and the sun came out about noon, really warming up the day.
lots of ice on the front of our coach
snow and ice on our car
the roads are bare and pretty dry
After we stopped at the Indiana welcome centre and made a bite to eat for lunch and a nice walkabout. Once past the welcome centre a few miles not much signs of snow. Took the southern by-pass (465) around Indianapolis that we like, no slow downs and a great road.
Now after lunch Suzie can have a nap, no need to navigate. Back on I-70 east  the bypass around Indianapolis and to the Flying J in Spiceland, we have stayed at before. Just a nice easy drive.
I think this navigator needs a rest
The by-pass right here, miss the city and the traffic, easy-peasy
A nice relaxing travel day and no real hurry, we planned on 274 miles and arrived at the Flying J in Spiceland Indianna . At 2 pm but now in Eastern Standard time it was 3 pm. We pulled in topped up our propane tank and gas tank then just pulled around and got a nice parking spot in the RV parking spaces. Temperature here was 61F (16C) and sunny love it ! So got a few walkabouts enjoying the sunshine and warm weather feels good to stretch my legs again.
all parked for the night
Now for supper tonight Suzie decided that she would like to grab something at Denny's. So I guess I don't need to cook. Hmm , but I have a plan, passenger wiper blade needs replacing Again! I checked out what they had and got a much better quality one. A few minutes later that was taken care of, and I checked e-mails relaxed for a bit then we headed on in for supper.
They were not too busy and we had great service. Loved some of the pics inside some retro stuff.
there we are in Spiceland !
from days gone by
Suzie's Omellete
my spicy chicken skillet
Well supper was tasty I wanted a new menu chicken item , but it was so new they did not have it in yet, (guess the chickens are still growing) so I settled on the spicy chicken Skillet that I like and Suzie the Philly steak omelette both meals were excellent, cooked to order, we thought about taking some home, and split a desert, well no take homes and no desert it was that good. Many years ago we went to a Denny's and did not enjoy the meal at all, but since then we thought we would try it just lately, they have changed the menu we have found mostly so far much better food and service. We are not much into large chain restaurants as a rule.
We scanned for local Hi def channels on our antenna  and picked up about 50 , so lotsa choices, we found a John Wayne and Ann-Margaret  a 1973 movie Train Robbers , we both love these old westerns.
That was it about it for another great travel day.
Thanks for joining us and hope y'all had a good one as well.
274 miles today
