Where are we today ?
Pretty mild again today and no wild or rain, but no sunshine either. Just kind of an overcast day, up to about 60f. Got my morning walkabout town then at 8:30 took Suzie to Kitchener and dropped her at her Chiropractor. While she was in there I whipped over to the Wholesale Club in Waterloo. I picked up our Winter supply of coffee enough for about 200 pots all individually vacuum sealed pouches. We have been drinking this coffee since I had my restaurant (from 1989 to 1999). This is a restaurant supply store that is open to the public. Used to be National Grocers when I started going there. While I was there ran into a lady (Doris) who was there way back then and moved to the new store. She still works there and I don't think she has changed at all. Have not seen her for a couple years. So we got to chatting, my how time flies. Of course I was a few minutes late picking Suzie up, she just knew I musta ran into somebody. Its hard for me not to run into people I have met over the years, after 10 years at the Bus depot, 7 years driving taxi part time, union steward for 5 years, My Restaurant for 10 Years and with the Optimist club for 18 years, that a lot of public exposure.
That's Doris as bubbly as ever |
Tonight some BBQ chicken thighs, acorn squash with maple syrup, and our salad, did the trick. I cooked up our last 2 cobs of corn to take off the cobs and freeze for another time.
Then at 7 pm I can walk to the Plattsville Arena (about 15 minutes) and watch Grandson number one get a workout with his hockey practice. Suzie back to New Hamburg for a blue grass concert that she wants to go to with them while she can at the retirement home.
Back home by 8:20 (nice night for a walkabout town) and Suzie at 8:40. Time to put our feet up and relax for a bit and will see what tomorrow brings.
Thanks once again for taking a peek and hope you had a wonderful day too.
We are so looking forward to those kind of days.

ReplyDeleteNice relaxing days are the best days.

DeleteThanks for pointing that out, I found it was hiding..
Only 14 days to go!!!
It's a mixed blessing when you know everybody. Tough to get anything done.
ReplyDeleteThats true, but never in a real hurry anyway.
DeleteWe do manage to actually not run into people as much when we on the road.
I think we men have a great time when we run into old acquaintances and friends. We enjoy talking and exchanging news. You are not the only one in this.
ReplyDeleteThats is so true, always fun to run into people we have not seen for a while.
DeleteGeesh George, I didn't know you worn so many hats! I always just thought of you as a restaurant owner.
ReplyDeleteYep have done a lot over the years, even more than I mentioned here, maybe I will post about all that from years ago, its been a busy life so far, now enjoying this relaxing time.
DeleteThat's a lot of coffee! You may never sleep all winter with all that caffeine. ;c)
ReplyDeleteThat's only one pot a day in the mornings, don't want to run out ya know.
DeleteI bet Doris also recognized you and told you that you hadn't changed a bit either :)
ReplyDeleteActually she recognized me right away and first thing she said was wow you lost a lot of weight!
DeleteThis is the slimmest I have been in over 40 years.
