Where are we today?
Stratford Ontario
One more good nights sleep after a feast of wings and very nice visit with Marion.Christmas Beer came with our wings yesterday |
For lunch he had an open face bacon and least 2 cheeses that was baked in the oven. He had these as a kid coming home from school and called it a cheese dream.
Friends Karen and Danny stopped by for a visit. It has been a while since we got together. We always talked about it when we were in Plattsville, but it never seemed to happen. They also brought their little dog Shilow for a visit. Wonderful conversation and people they are. In our early years of dating, we saw them quite frequently. It was great to spend some quality time with them.
Karen , Me Dan and Shilow |
We both even got a doggie fix.
During their visit, I got a call that the car was finished with the installation. I asked them if they would take me there, so I could pick up the car. Of course, it was no problem.
Karen and Danny dropped me of at K and K. Kevin should me how to use the remote start. Pretty easy. We only need to remember 2 buttons. One to start the car and the other if we change our mind to turn it off. It will run for 15 minutes. No more, taking a spare key, start the car, go back inside apartment and a little later going back out making sure I have keys to lock the apartment. Much easier with the remote start. What a great company to deal with. Kevin has a 38' Diesel Pusher that he takes to races.
a very tasty supper to end the day after a great visit |

Great to see smiles on everyone's faces! The beer sure looked happy!
ReplyDeleteYes smiling is always good especially the Corona,
DeleteAnother good day in the books! May there be many ahead.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter it sure was looking forward to many more as well.
DeleteThat remote start will really be handy after an Overnight Snow. Just set the Defrost on High the night before.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you both smiling again. Keeping you both in our Prayers.
It's about time.
It is handy and had them before for years they are handy.
Deletethanks for the prayers.
We have a remote start on our truck and I use it in the winter but also in the summer to cool off the truck. I'm sure you will get a lot of use out of it!
ReplyDeleteSummer and winter they do get a lot of use for sure.
DeleteAnother visit and doggie fixes!, atho Shilow seems to prefer Suzie :) I can certainly see the use of your remote starter, good investment.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun visit with good friends and the doggies fixes a bonus. Doug do prefer Suzie though.
DeleteTh remote starter is always nice especially here in the cold winter climate .
Say I wonder if they make those remote starters for humans. I like the idea of being cool in the summer and warm in the winter. In my world the best thing about that Corona beer is the antlers. Good to see you blogging and commenting again George. You have made a lot of blogging RV'ers feel welcome over the years with your posts, comments, and happy hours, etc. And no doubt sent a lot of readers scrambling for their BBQ's refrigerators, and recipe books after checking out your foody photos. Good stuff I'd say:))
ReplyDeleteThats an idea for the remote start Al ! The beer with antlers is a cute decoration, don't have to drink it. ( I probably will after Christmas though)
DeleteThanks for the encouragement nice to be able to do some typing again and not AS many typos . I do enjoy it, and sharing adventures and other stuff with fellow readers.
Hi George,
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you are doing as well as you are with all that good care and I'm especially jelous of all that good food you are getting. Good for you, you deserve it.
But what I wanted to say was you've taught me something important of life that I'd never considered.
I try to be a positive type person and I use your story about retiring and deciding depression wasn't where it's at and smiling and being happy was were it's at and that's what you decided to do. I use this to try and help depressed people out as it's all really what's between your ears or theirs.
But what I really learned for my own good is smiling when you get close to your time is the best way to go as if you don't have much time left it's still what's left of ones life so smile as a smile is much better than a frown to enjoy what little time you have left on earth. I think even when in a lot of pain, one can still smile about all the pain. I have to do that myself when the corn stuff is getting me which is most of the time.
Not too long ago I decided one should do all he things on earth that one does on earth as afterwards, those things you do on earth will not be available any more where ever you may be, so beer and good eats is an earthly thing and you seem to be doing a good job of it with help from all your friends.
I wish you peace and a happy holidays coming up.
Bob
Thanks BOB for that wonderful comment. Hope some of those positive thoughts and smiles help you out, sure works wonders for me. Make the best of the life we have , do what we want to do , live life to the fullest, don't wait for tomorrow , it may never come.
DeleteNo matter how bad things are right now they can always be worse.
Smile and and pass it on, it is catchy, and everyone will feel better.
Looking good with that big smile and all dressed up again. And a doggie fix for Suzie. That remote start sounds like a nice thing to have in that cold, freezing, snowy weather. I wouldn't mind having one for the triple digits here.
ReplyDeleteSending prayers every day

DeleteThe remote start works great any time even in the hot summer weather.
George you sure are looking good, and eating good too. If we lived in a cold weather area I'd want a remote start too. Are you using the walker much?
ReplyDeleteHugs

DeleteI use the walker a bit but not without a nurse as a spotter, so not as much as I would like, I was told to save my energy. I do get around in the wheel char a lot though.

George, you are looking awesome!! That is so nice for us to see on your blog when we can't see you in person. We have always loved your positive attitude and I've strived in my life to be the same. I hope if I'm facing what you are, that I can be as strong. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat meals there and you are sure enjoying it and all the visitors. Suzie, you were wise to take advice about the remote start, in two 'start-ups' it will have paid for itself on those cold mornings. :D
Thanks for your kind words Patsy. A positive attitude, and a smile on your face makes life much better all the way around. I have had a good life and no regrets. Living our dreams together enjoying a wonderful life.
DeleteThe visitors are nice and the remotes have paid for themselves many times over the years.
Always nice to click on your blog and see the smiles. We see you both got doggie fixes today...:)
ReplyDeleteWish I had seen that Deer Beer when we still had the house; would have been a cute decoration on the bar at Christmas. Plus, would not have had to store it just put it in the fridge and Tom would have taken care of the disposing of it after the holidays...LOL It is nice to be able to press a button from inside and have a warm car to get into, enjoy. As always in our thoughts and prayers.
Thanks guys for stopping by for a visit and comment. I love the Deer Beer too, so cute and no need to store it until next year tasty and consumable.

ReplyDeleteLove the remotes for cars we enjoy them before . The heat works a bit like before having it looked at tomorrow and resting up is what do frequently.
