Friday relaxing.doctor visit

Where are we today?
Stratford Ontario
After a restless night I finally woke at 6 am, still feeling tired probably left over strained muscles from Saturday's adventures rolling about on the floor.
We had already decided today was a recover day left to allow the sore sore muscles heal themselves and there is a few. So taking it easy Suzie arrived about 10 am met with the house doctor like usual on Fridays discussed my conditions and meds and about my fall yesterday checked my over and all is good. Then met at 11 am with Kate the administrator regarding day etc. overnight is not an option at this point and we agreed I am not fit for anything like that now or maybe never time will tell.
Soon time for lunch for I enjoyed some left over Chinese food and an egg salad sandwich hit the spot. Then time for a shower and a shave making me feel brand new and squeaky clean once again.
Relax for while chat with Suzie some reading and computing a cold one for Happy hour, with crackers and cheese made for a wonderful afternoon together.  About 4 pm Suzie headed home for a cold one as well. Supper came at 5 pm as usual and I was ready for it. Salad and hot sauce standing by me ready. Then a tasty supper meat pie potato wedges and my salad for a tasty feast once again. So I have up finished this posting and called it a night. We have a busy day tomorrow so a good sleep tonight is in order.
We will call it a night and thank y'all for dropping by. Hope you had a wonderful day as well.
Somehow I imported my pictures and could not find them, so gave up, gonna call it a night, need our rest having another busy day tomorrow.

Thank y'all again for checking us out and hope you had a great one as well.

Keep on smiling One day a a time.

A relaxing day and a nice visit with my brother and his wife on a sunny day

Where are we today?
Stratford Ontario

After a wonderful busy day with family great food and fresh air we both got a very good sleep last night. Right from 8:30 until 3:30 am with only 2 short nature calls. I slept like a log.

Then of course up puttering around some orange juice and coffee and a few laps in my wheel chair and now heck at 8 am if I did lay down for about 30 minutes just cause I could, guess I needed a bit more rest.

Got a Christmas card from Suzie's cousin in Ottawa, Ontario addressed like this and we still received it! Can you believe it? No last name and no apartment number in a 4 story building. Heck he gets lucky he did a similar thing years ago in the village of Plattsville years ago. What's the chances?
no last name and no apt number
Suzie arrived about 10 am we chatted for a while then down to the dining room for an early lunch, she bought me a piece of chicken to go with fresh cheese biscuits made fresh here for lunch did the trick for me.
chicken and fresh biscuits for lunch today
It was so nice and sunny outside we enjoyed sitting in the sun for a while, and as soon as I went outside one of my nurses Annie was right there with a warm blanket for my legs. They do spoil us here that's for sure,
loving the fresh air and sunshine here
think that is Holly berries
Then a bit later heard my brother was on the way, so we sat in another sunny spot outta the wind waiting for them a perfect winter for it.
sitting beside the BBQ but nothing to cook
Sheri, Chris , me, Suzie,

brought me a beer right on time
for my thirst to kick in Thanks Chris
Soon time for Suzie to head home, I watched TV for bit then supper chicken fingers and fries plus my salad on the side.
a tasty change with hot sauce and plum sauce
plus my salad
This was a very nice relaxing day for us a good visit with my brother and his wife. After busy day yesterday was appreciated.

Thanks for joining us and hope you had nice sunny inter day too.

Yeah, more freedom and an update on the car heater.

Where are we today?
Stratford Ontario

Even a better sleep last night really gotta love it. 6 hours of really good sleep my norm from 9:15 pm until 3.30 am feeling really good.

And a bonus I was told that I can use the walker un assisted , as they have seen me move about. Just be careful. Heck I will be careful I have come this far and sure don't want to hurt  myself. One thing meaning I can get up for the washroom during the night and right back to sleep. Get more things for myself. and exercise my legs that are feeling better and need the movement , the swelling is going down a bit with the help of the water pills to I am sure. They even turned off the bed alarm and put the side rails down for me as well.
On one of my walkabouts
Heck after a tour about here in the wheel chair and got the walker all warmer up for my first solo run down the hall and back actually 2 times, Sure felt good, a bit at a time and I will be doing even better.
breakfast Toast and jam dry tasty local jam
Suzie took the car to Pettigrews garage first thing again , after a road test etc, it was determined we need a new heater core. Not surprised at 17 years old. We discussed it and called Dale back, we actually do get some heat as long it is not turned on full blast. And because of the busy season and holidays decided they will do that job right after the New Year, it could be anywhere from a 2 to 5 hour job. But at least we do have some heat for now.

She got back here shortly after 11 am and we headed down  for lunch I tried the homemade soup today and it was very  tasty even though cream  soups are not my favorite then Micheal made me tasty sandwich 2 breakfast sausage that I enjoy.
a tasty soup
no pureed for me
tasty lunch
We chatted for while and back to my room I puttered around for a bit and Suzie enjoyed a much needed sleep, so nice that she is able to do this here. Then time for another walkabout on my own, with the walker un assisted, boy does this ever feel nice. I actually got 2 full laps walked better than before when I could not even do one with the wheel chair.
3 pm Happy Hour, and relax a bit and chat some more.
Suzie mixed this up for me to go with my dinner
These are small portions you can tell by the cover and plate
Tonight was a tasty chicken breast , mashed and carrots to go with my salad, was so very tasty, Michael did another excellent meal.
very tasty I enjoyed this

Supper done in good time relax some more, finish this posting a bit of reading and an old TV western to watch then soon call it a night,

Want to thank y'all for joining us and hope you enjoyed your day as well. Looking fred to anthem good nights sleep and see what tomorrow brings. Looking to more walkabouts and whatever the days turn out like more exercise and walking is sure in the plans.

A relaxing and productive day

Where are we today?
Stratford Ontario

Happy Monday, the weekend is over meaning things after a fun busy we both had a good nights sleep, I actually woke up at 4:30 this morning and the Nurse said "hey you slept in! " Yes I did and it felt good guess I needed it.

Shortly after 8 am headed down to  the Kitchen chat with the cook Michael for a bit and someone order poached eggs, oh Yeah sounds good, so he threw one egg and 2 pieces of breakfast sausage on to go with it, boy was that tasty. Check out the lunch and dinner specials today. Looks good, Interesting soup selection and the chicken for dinner sounds wonderful do love my chicken.
Today's meals look tasty
the poached egg and sausage was yummy
Then I was up and about, nice that I have a bit more freedom using my walker, to the washroom in and outta the wheel chair etc., not having to rely on the nurses all day long. Got some computing done going though a few thousand unwanted pictures ready to back up my Mac Book again.

Suzie came in about 11:30 this morning she had made me a turkey burger (I have been craving) on the George Foreman Grill at home, with all the toppings, boy was that tasty with some potato salad here available from the kitchen, she had a soup and sandwich. Then time for a short nap Suzie needed, so me trying to be quiet lol.

Sure is a good thing they use small luncheon or sandwich plates it looks like too much food but actually pretty small portions.

A bit later a text from my daughter to see if they cold drop by they shopping in town. So drop by they did for a very nice visit lunch and a break from here shopping.
at 2 years old she does love her food
sitting on Grandad's knee for a hug
she enjoys looking out the window watching the squirrels
She followed me back to the car, notice the bare feet
country girl she is.

They had very nice visit and a chat then time to head back home.
Then the rest of the day we relaxed for a bit and Suzie headed home about 4 pm for a tasty dinner she made in our slow cooker, sounds like it will be a tasty one for her as well..

Soon time for supper just before 6 pm a tasty portion of chicken, mashed, gravy and my Caesar salad did the trick, My beer today was  nice treat from Mexico, Modelo, I have not had for a while, nice area.

A pretty relaxing and productive day, lots good food, sure glad for the smaller portions that space out about 5 hour a part.

I did get some walking done with my walker done and quite a few laps in the wheel chair as well. Seems like always something to keep us busy.

Thanks again for checking us out. Suzie will be taking the car back to the garage to see if they can figure out the issue with the heater in the car.

A walkabout, getting squirrelly and family fun.

Where are we today?
Stratford Ontario

Happy Sunday!!! And here I was thinking it was Monday. Don't matter much really but the time does kinda get away from me. On the weekends we tend to get more company. I seem to be back into my usual sleep routine the last few days about 6-7 hours night. Last night 9 pm until just after 3 am. Wide awake a ready to go, no problem always some thing to keep me busy and occupied. Reading blogs, replying to comments, research various things writing in my journal, chat with the friendly nurses maybe a snooze, even wheeling about in my wheel chair. Never a dull moment in my life.

Shift change at 7:30 am, nurses come in to welcome me for the day open my blinds for a clear outside view, snowing right now, some big fluffy flakes and sun trying to shine. Gonna be another great day. Maybe some company later, will see how the weather goes. They will all be from out of town so not to predictable this time of year.

I had asked the Nurse it I could get out and walk a bit with my walker and they agreed to let me go out, with a spotter. Wow was that ever nice yahoo out there actually walking, not far but better than nothing!
Trisha and me strolling down the hall.
But then things got squirrelly I looked out my window and we have black squirrels on our window ledge, a bunch of nuts right there they are gathering, pretty cool think someone put a bunch there, who ever it was thanks so much!
fun watching these guys for quite a while
Then Suzie came about 10:30 this morning the roads are pretty good and lets me know looks like all 3 of my kids are coming plus all the grands. Around noon, so we whipped into the dining room and grabbed a bite before they got here, a Tomato Lettuce and mayo sandwich to go with the rest of my French Canadian Pea soup did the trick.
A tasty lunch hit the spot!
First to arrive was my Son and Granddaughter #2 from Hamilton she is a sweetie and 4 years old. She gifted us 2 very nice and recent photos, on the left and the one on the right her first day of school.
love the smiles
Shortly afterwards the rest all arrived, had some soup and sweeties, found some crafts for the kids to make Christmas decorations and be occupied
making things is always fun
We occupied the larger family room across the hall play area for the kids, TV, for the older ones, more seating and even a large Christmas tree almost like home, or at least the best we can do, very comfortable.
Chatting for a bit SIL Brian brings me more different tasty beers
thanks guys!
a bunch sitting on the couch
now this is one KING can! 60 oz lasted me most
of the afternoon, they said I could have 2 right?
snacks to go with it too
enjoying the comfort of family
GD # 1 being a young teenager,
her hair still red
When the guys were here they checked out the car, not as much heat after the repair the other day, think maybe a defective Thermostat so a call to Pettigrews in the morning to see what they can do.
Soon time for daughter #2 Jessica and family have to head out. Grandson in the white has a hockey game in Plattsville soon, wished him luck and away they went.
heading out for the game
2 cousins relaxing in my recliner
Then about 3 pm every one headed on home after a very nice visit and family time I managed to catch a bit of a sunset later and relax after they headed out, better than we have seen for a while at least.
to nights almost sunset after a very sunny skies for a while
Then a nice light supper a bit of ham roasted taters and my Caesar salad, just enough for a tasty bite,

very tasty and light

Now had pretty perfect day here no complaints at all. Fun times with the family is precious and we for sure had a precious day, filled with fun and laughter.

Really does life get much better than that? Not in my books, the main reason I am here to enjoy some more quality of the wonderful life I have enjoyed so far.

Glad that y'all joined us today and of hope you had a wonderful day as well.

And remember to enjoy every day
