Where are we today?
Stratford Ontario

Looks like we both had a good nights sleep.

I did some grocery shopping this morning and when I got to see George, he was in his lazy boy chair. They like the idea of him being this chair better than the bed, since it will keep his feet elevated.
Daughter #1 arrived just has we were having lunch. George had half a tuna sandwich, soup and and muffin on his tray, He ate the sandwich and shared the rest his daughter ate. I brought a sandwich and soup that was provided.

After lunch, daughter #1 and myself continued to do some decorating. We put lights around the big window in his room and moved the tinsel to over the fireplace. Lighting was not co-operating, so no pictures of the rest of the room.

Shortly after we finished decorating, his son arrived. Of course, these two hadn't seen the facility, so into the wheelchair and away we went. He really likes showing off this place.
We had a happy hour with lots of laughs.
Daughter #1 and Son.

I left early today, if you call 4 pm early. I am quite confident with the staff and know that they will take good care of him.

Today, he walked from the bathroom back to his bed, of course with a spotter to ensure he didn't fall. I don't know how many steps he took, but definitely more than 10.

  3. It's a good thing you were there to help that Spotter help you to the washroom and back. Those Spotters can sometimes fall down and go boom. Both you and the Christmas decorations are looking great. I think the staff there should give you tag saying, 'Official Tour Guide'.

  12. Seems George is on the mend. The hospice here in Arizona are not so accommodating or let you stay in facility unless unable to eat, walk, or function much. My poor sister under hospice care was not able to walk to bathroom yet they wouldn't admit her to their facility where the bathrooms, showers, etc. are available. Sister died at home without a decent shower because her home bathroom was not disable friendly. I'm glad the hospice in Canada is more friendly and accommodating. I've had two other hospice experience here in Arizona with family members and they were put in a hospice facility and cared for until they passed. Take care George and keep a good outlook as you always have to a complete recovery.

  14. You are very lucky indeed..Here in Washington state one has to pay to be in a hospice and they don't look like the one you are residing in..If you own anything you pay here and many are unable to get into one at all, the waiting times are ridiculous, many stay in their homes and have their mates/wives and family do everything..hoping you will be feeling no pain whatsoever and enjoy the holidays..praying for your daily..
