Our last sleep here at Pilot Knob Resort and was a good one. As the sun was rising I managed to get h\a few walkabouts this morning, we are not in a hurry only going 35 miles today and gaining and hour in the time as well. Enjoying the sunshine as it came up and warmed the day.

this mornings sunrise at Pilot Knob |
Just puttered around dumped our sewage, disconnect out water and electric, stowed our satellite dish. Rob, Pat, Bill and Patsy stopped by to wish us safe travels and we will meet up with them again in a few weeks.
No need to hook up the car for 35 miles so west on I-8 to The Hot Springs LTVA to meet up with 5 couples, 4 from Ontario and one couple from New York. We always like to hook up with these guys every year when we are so close. We first met them here about 10 years ago,

Marlene and me such a wonderful lady |
Just we were getting ready to head out this lady stopped by to say Hi It was Marlene, a fellow blogger from Ontario
(Marlene and Benno's Odysess's on Land and Water) we knew they were coming to Pilot Knob though not sure when. They had some issues with their trailer east of here in Arizona. So glad that we were not in a hurry today or we would have missed her. They had just arrived and Benno was setting up their trailer. Always fun to meet fellow bloggers that we have been following each other for quite a while.
Making our way west on I-8 we passed by the Imperial Sand dunes , always love this area and the views of the dunes.
|
the canal passing through the dunes is amazing |
|
love these views |
Turned off here and they are harvesting some crops here, think maybe carrots, Holtville is the Carrot capital here in the states.
|
amazing crops all irrigated |
We left Pilot Knob at 10:50 am Arizona time and arrived at the Hot springs at 10:40 am California time. We are now 3 hours behind Ontario time back home.Thats cool, we arrived before we left. lol.... Checked in and got our 2 week permit for 40 bucks, good for all these BLM LTVA areas, and set up near our friends where they always stay for the winter. After a light lunch I then set up out Weber Q and satellite dish both quick and easy, after levelling the dish 2 minutes I got a 95% signal, works for us.
Now we can relax in the shade under our awning and get right back into our e-readers again. No wind here and even though 62 f, it feels very hot in the intense desert sun. Shorts and sandals mat of today.
|
this be our place for a while |
The pictures below are taken from our roof when I tilted our solar panel .
|
the thermo electric plant not too far away |
|

Then at 3:30 California time they always have Happy Hour, so we joined them as usual. greet everyone again, (it's been almost a year) So nice to do some catching up with these guys as we have dine for at least the last 10 years.
|
a nice desert Happy hour, but starting to cool down now |
|
Ailene has had this sign in her window for years. the Puppies are here |
Shortly after 4:30 we headed home to whip up supper as the sun was setting, and did not disappoint us once again.
|
sunset reflection on our coach was nice |
|
that's it for today |
Salad made and grilled a large boneless skinless chicken breast I tenderized and flattened to an even thickness with my mallet so it cooked evenly. Using Our grill mat and this wonderful Bourbon BBQ sauce that
Deb recommended , we really like this on our chicken , Hope I can find some more.
