I did it again slept in until 5 am wow, I was impressed. No fog this morning just warm and  a nice sunrise happening. I got a good walkabout down by the hot springs, Tuesday mornings it is drained, cleaned pressure washed and santized by volunteers.  By 10 am is usually operational again.
this morning's sunrise from our dining room window
the sun reflecting in the lagoon
these volunteers do an amazing job here
About 8:30 this morning we went to El Centro for a few items and Suzie even came along , wow!! She was looking for a particular pair of pants but neither Walmart nor Target had the size she wanted. I found some new Jeans that I like at Target, and they had the exact size I wanted, so I bought 2 pair. I have one larger pair of Jeans to go away and one pair that will be made into cutoffs that I like, 2 in 2 out that is how  we maintain our space.
heading to El Centro
Back home by 11am and enjoyed a light tasty lunch, Then a cruise around the area for a bit and enjoyed some reading outside in the shade, what another perfect weather day. After I bit I checked our tires and oil, disconnected and stored our Weber Q, secured our solar panel, getting ready to head out in the morning. Nice to get this done now, no rush in the morning.
Roland heading out for a cruise today
Lori right behind him

Roland and Lori back home for Happy Hour
Then 3:30 our final happy hour this visit with our good friends here and home to whip up supper.  A show that Suzie wants to watch at 5 pm here. For tonight we used up some more of our ham going to make a Ham Tetrazzini. Simple recipe I found on the internet .Basically cooked some spaghetti, and sautéed  some onions, and a couple of mushrooms, cream of mushroom soup a cup or so go diced ham and 1/2 a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. With the noodles cooked I mixed them in with the sauce cheese and ham, and plated, sprinkles of parsley for color and a small side salad. A quick easy and very tasty way to use up some more of our ham.
another fun happy hour with these guys
Don and Alines' trailer, they have lotsa solar
and lithium batteries, lotsa power
Cody came by to visit such a friendly dog he is
We headed home at 4:30 and caught another nice sunset while I whipped up supper.
Nothing quite compares to these desert sunsets.
ham tetrazzini and a salad sure was tasty
That was our last day here with good friends, and enjoying this area and our time with them
, Gonna head out in the morning , not too far just another quiet place to hang out.
Glad that y'all dropped on by one hope you enjoyed some wonderful weather wherever you may be.

Foggy start to eventually a nice warm sunny day and more fun with our friends.

Where are we today ?

Another mild night good for sleeping about 48F at 4 am but very foggy. And it stayed foggy for quite a while. My first walkabout at 7 am for a mile or so, then at 9 am I went to Holtville for a few groceries and still very foggy. Even though the sun was high in the sky visibility was limited.
like this for a few hours this morning
the sun is trying to soon burn off the fog
I guess about 10 the fog finally lifted and it warmed up very nicely. By noon it was a comfortable 65 F with a slight breeze. Now this is another wonderful day here to enjoy. Took a nice walkabout around the area for a while and down the road to Ormesa 3, the Geothermal power plant behind this area, An interesting place they have here using the hot water from the ground to create electricity.
a nice walk down this quiet road
this be the entrance
an amazing geothermal plant right here
Back home and enjoyed the warm afternoon sunshine getting right into our e-readers again for a while.
we do enjoy this area as one of our places to stop in our travels
A bit later our good friends, Bill, Patsy, Rob and Pat came to visit more of our friends here. Oscar, Judy, Roland and Lori, just down from us. So we wandered over for a bit to join in the lively conversation,
Patsy taking a group picture
the I took mine
They left about 3 pm (California Time) and we headed home for 30 minutes then back for Happy hour with the rest of this fun group of people. As usual lots of snacks they have here to nibble on. Got to be careful or we won't need supper.
more social time and the conversation flows
sharing tips and fun stories
yes too many snacks, but always tasty
people liked the crackers we had so this
is what they are , very tasty
Home by 4:30 to fire up our Weber Q a grill some chicken drumsticks I picked up the other other day, 6 is too many , but they only cost 2 bucks, so may as well cook them anyway , more leftovers for snacks and lunches.
this is the rub we like
got in Texas
we stocked up
As I was grilling the chicken on our grill mat I whipped up a salad and managed to catch a few nice nice sunset pictures just before it went away .
By 5:30 these were done to perfection, and we enjoyed as much as we wanted. Like I said more leftovers.
a good deal for 2 bucks
that was our feast for tonight
Dishes done, garbage gone, blog posted and we can veg in front of the tube for a bit before calling it a night after another wonderful warm winter day in the sun. This is the kind of winter weather we love.
Thanks again for dropping on by.

A very nice sunny day, soak in the Hot springs and memories of Ma,

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
We did get some more rain overnight for a while , and a nice 48F when I git up at 4:30 this morning . Got some coffees consumed and started boiling yesterdays ham bone to begin making a nice big pot of Hurst's 15 Bean Soup that we love.
As the sun was rising I got out for a nice morning walkabout and noticed the early morning fog mixed in with the sunrise. but did not take long for the fog to burn off.
interesting sunrise once the fog lifted was a great day
Part of my walkabout down by the Hot Springs just because they are so close and scenic. Really love this area.
the hots springs are always busy here, why not they are free
I bought these beans with the Cajun spice by mistake and did not think Suzie would like it so before I added the spice pack I  set some aside in another pot. Then time for a lunch sample, as predicted she did not like the Cajun spice, but I loved it, glad I split it.
Once the broth was made , I took the excess meat from the bone added more water and put the beans on to the Quick Cook , let them simmer for 70 minutes add the rest of the ingredients then another 45 minutes done. Oh and is smells so wonderful in here with that aroma floating in the air.
I missed the Cajun sign because I did not know any better
now I know.
small pot for Suzie large for me with the spices
I will enjoy this soup
a very nice tasty lunch it was
Now after lunch another walk about for a bit then cruised in the car to the other side one the Interstate to check out more of the LTVA camping. Not many rigs there and some very nice secluded sites if you like.
this quiet area gores a long way
back only a few rv's here
Back home reading outside in the afternoon shade was very nice, just a slight cool breeze but that was just fine. Nice to see the sunshine back again.
About 2 pm California time I went over to the Hot Springs for a very nice very nice long hot shower and soak in the tub, again very hot and up to my neck, loving this. 5 minutes in the tub I was done,  red like a lobster, man that felt good.
hot shower and hot tub here is amazing
Soon time for the 3:30 Happy Hour, my donation to snack today is crackers , cheese and ham of course.
snack for all to enjoy and they did
Happy hour today was in Lori and Roland's 5er toy hauler. Just because all the chairs were moved there and the ladies had just finished making about a million perogies.
they have this toy hauler for their Bikes
the guys enjoying solving all the
worlds problems back here
in the garage
and the ladies in the den
Soon it was time to head home for supper, , we enjoyed another desert sunset,  supper tonight will be cooked inside, just because I can, Reheating some ham and bean soup and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.
another nice sunset here
we do love the desert
grilled ham and cheese nice and easy
now a nice treat that we both enjoyed
and sure hit the spot tonight
It was just 2 years ago today that we found out my mother had passed away back home in Ontario Canada, So we made  arrangements to get back there asap.
Memories of my mother
