Last day here, wrapping things up , and an update about issues here yesterday

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Cooler again last night at 39 F this morning but next to no wind today with clear blue sunny skies now this is more like it. A quick last trip to Yuma at 7 am for a few supplies, before we head out in the morning. Then showers, and Suzie sorted the laundry, which I took to the park laundry mat (teamwork) got that done and folded in time for and early lunch.
heading into Yuma a the suntise's
After lunch I checked our tire pressures washed the windshield and topped up our fresh water tank in preparation for leaving here in the morning. two weeks here in one place is enough for now.
The rest of our day we enjoyed some wonderful warm sunshine out of the wind. Our thermometer read 74 f for a while in the shade and was feeling wonderful shorts and sandals on for a while just because  I could and really enjoyed it.
love these clear blue sunny skies
the smoke to the west of us is, the farmers
burning their fields after harvest
and plow the ashes into the ground
This is what we enjoy in the afternoon sun and out of the wind.
enjoying our e-readers in the afternoon sun
Pat and Patsy heading to the puzzle room
really love the blue sunny skies
Now at 3:30 we were invited to Rob and Pats for Happy Hour. The six of us flapped our gums for an hour then we headed home to whip up or supper.
a nice bunch of good friends here for a
while , we will meet up again on down the road again
I made our salad, preheated the Weber Q 100 and grilled a couple of turkey garlic sausage we brought from home.
sausage done nicely
The we added  the rest of our pasta from last night and enjoyed a tasty meal.
tasty, hit the spot?yup it did
Then as supper was about done we enjoyed just another wonder desert sunset here.
We never get tired of these wonderful sunsets . day after day , they are what we are here for. Right outside our dining room window.
How can we beat a winter like this in January?
Not sure but we are longing it.
About the issue in the park yesterday with all the police, fire trucks and ambulance. The story I was told by a reliable source was that the people in that trailer had been to Mexico and purchased some Fentanyl. Dropped the young father at home and his father, wife and foster son went shopping for a couple of hours. When they got home the trailer was locked. The boy climbed in the window and found his foster father dead apparently of a drug overdose. This is it sad but true.
That sad news but it is what it is.

Now just another wonderful desert day, getting things done and moving on down the road in the  morning.
Glad that y'all dropped on by and hope you had a wonderful day as well

    1. Jo, I thought the same thing! We do have an opioid crisis in this country. The medication starts out as pain killers from your surgeon or doctor and you ratchet up the dosage yourself for pain and crave more and more of them. I wonder if he was having or had some medical difficulties.
