A good nights sleep and up early as usual. It was 40F outside at 4 am so turning on our blue flame heater we quickly got warmed up. At 7 am daylight was arriving so got outside for my first walkabout exploring more roads and trails around the large campground. Got 3 miles in today and feels good.
Wandering new roads , so nice to see different scenery every day and this amazing desert vistas. Clear blue skies and with the sun rising temperatures rising quickly.

I carried on walking on a new road and so peaceful , like being all by myself.
|
love this cool trailer a blast from the past |
Then checked out the clubhouse, always a puzzle on the go (Patsy) and so many more there to do as well.
The library here is HUGE exchange books, below is only a pert on it.
|
more of the libary |
|
hard cover books and movie to exchange as well |
Back home at 10 am noticed our solar was charging at 4.2 amps in full sun. Ok with the lower level of the sun at this time of year, guess I will tilt our one panel . Up on the roof and tilted then checked we are charging at 11.5 amps. Yahoo that is much better. By noon we are at a full charge.
|
our panel tilted and we good to go, not many neighbousr here right now . love it! |
|
so much open space here and friendly people |
After a light lunch we enjoyed our page turners for a while in the shade of our awning. I did get a new haircut as well, perfect hot weather for it, Suzie does an amazing job.
Then at about 2 pm we decided on the very hot day think we need an ice cream. Why not? So over to the Why Not store and picked up a couple of treats for us, Perfect on a hot sunny winter day.

Where have we been this Winter?
Great seeing you both enjoying the good life, always upbeat and happy. I wish the whole world could be more like you.😀
ReplyDeleteThanks Gumo, we sure are enjoying this good life, living our dream, moving around enjoying the scenery, avoiding cold winters and meeting interesting people.
DeleteSome how missed Monday's post, love the old truck fountain. What big library they have. plenty of books and puzzles. The Why Not store was kind of funny.
ReplyDeleteYou said the folks you met and helped set up their tv stay the entire season? That's great at those prices.
That truck fountain is kinda cool at the Why Not store. They do have a huge library,, the computer room, puzzles and movies to exchange.
DeleteThere is 600 sites here most of them are leased on a yearly basis, at $.575.00 a year it is a good deal.
Nice picture of the sun rising. Always enjoy seeing all the Saguaros in that area.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys love the scenery here as well, so special.
DeleteNice picture of the park from the rooftop, it looks quite nice there without being desolate. We like other campers semi-close like that.
ReplyDeleteThe ice cream looks good and I could almost smell that yummy supper!
Thanks Patsy, this is a unique campground, and like you in the desert, lotsa space and not desolate. It was a very tasty supper thanks.
DeleteI'm wondering if anyone camped there is using their generator? Dinner looks delicious!! I can't wait to get to WARM.
ReplyDeleteMost everyone has solar and with the sunshine pretty much don't need one.. So much space you can run a generator, hours are 8am till 12:30pm then 3:30 till 9 pm only.
DeleteDaytime here nice and warm in the sunshine, the usual cool desert nights.
I like that park. Freddy and I would enjoy all the nice walking space. As usual supper looked good, ice cream too!
ReplyDeleteWe love this park and all the trails to explore are wonderful. Supper tasty and the ice cream treat a bonus too.
DeleteAh...the liver and onions looked awesome. Going to have to take a run into the store today to get some for supper. For Jeepers, one of the things I like about the Why area, is the accessibility to the off roads just across from the park. You can go all the way down to the Mexican border on the old roads.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter the liver was excellent as usual.
DeleteNo Jeep for us , our low slung Saturn not suitable for off roading, So many cool places to explore around here, great the great desert scenery.
George, how many watts of solar do you have? What household items do you run on solar? How about a microwave? We just have a small one for trickle charging our battery over the winter and while we are in transit on long trips. So, that means we use a lot of RV parks with electric.
ReplyDeleteDee , we have 230 watts of solar, 2 6 volt trojan batteries, Keeps out batteries charged, and a 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter, all we run is the tv, charge our electronic equipment. I can do without a microwave, and we have a stove top perk for coffee. We have no need for electricity most of the year so the boondocking is what we prefer and less expensive too.
DeleteI too enjoy the nautical themes we see in the desert. Always brings a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteSupper looked wonderful!!!
Thanks Deb supper was very tasty. Nothing quite like the desert is there?
DeleteI love grilled liver if it is only done to medium-rare. Yum, Yum. And the onions put it over the top.
ReplyDeleteThat's the way it was done , cut it with a fork melt in your mouth.
DeleteThose solar panels are worth every penny, especially in the sunny Southwest. Smart money well spent. :c)
ReplyDeleteYes they are, we invested in them spring 2007 and have paid us back 10 fold plus.
DeleteWe only have 64 watts per each of our three solar panels for a total of 192 watts. Way back in 2001 they didn't have the higher watt units that they now have.
ReplyDeleteTechnology changes and this works great for us all the we need,
