More wonderful sleeping weather, 50F overnight so comfy and the fresh dry air perfect. But now have to tell you last night I fell asleep as usual watching tv on my new recliner. When Suzie woke me up for bed I went to get up and my chair slipped off the stack of wood under each to the 5 legs. Almost disaster the chair and me almost fell down the entry stairwell. Luckily it did not and I survived. Phew, that was scary. No problem though off to bed to saw more logs. Guess I wiggled a bit too much and almost had an oops.
Got a few walkabouts this morning only 3 miles today but better than none and enjoyed this mild weather.
this morning's sunrise |
heading back home past the finings from the copper mines |
a nice area for tents if that is your style |
got the height right but not stable yet |
this will do for now until the perfect fix |
traces of the Burros could hear then but no sightings other than this |
After lunch we enjoyed our e-readers outside as we usually do, when a couple from British Columbia Canada dropped by to ask about our Shaw Satellite dish, he cannot get his set up. We Chatted for a while and I said I would drop by and get it set up for him. Not a problem.
Terry and Bill I will set up their dish for them tomorrow |
A bit later made a salad for supper and was preheating our Weber Q when a blog follower Joanne from British Columbia as well stop by to introduce herself. Has been following our travels for a while and came here from following the blog. They love it here! Second time for them. They are in a class B camper van in the right of this picture
so nice to meet people who follow our travels glad she dropped by |
what a wonderful lady wish we could spend more time chatting |
another excellent desert sunset |
added to our salad we enjoyed another tasty meal |

Where have we been this Winter?
Oh my George! I didn't like the looks of that chair sitting on those stacks of wood. It was an accident waiting to happen, glad nothing serious did. I'd be fixing it but good 'before' you get home! LOL
ReplyDeleteNice to meet new blog followers and fellow Canadians as well. Continue to enjoy the park.
I did those stacks to find out the proper height of wood I needed. but guess I wiggled too much in my chair. It will be fixed permanently very shortly I just nee to get the wood and have it cut for me, no gonna happen here in AJO. I just can't do the final trim until we get home, our extra flooring is there at a friends place
DeleteAlways fun to meet blog followers and more rv'ers. Wherever we are.
Yup that set up made me nervous to. Hope you can find a sheet of plywood big enough to cover the area of the chair feet and then drill some holes to fit over the screws then if it still isn't high enough at least you could attach the boards to the plywood so there isn't any more slipping. Be careful
ReplyDeleteWe will be in Yuma the end of the week so I will take care of that then, Home Depot there. The set up I have now will work until then.
DeleteYou take care, George! Looks like a fun place to camp. Will have to check it out in January between Organ Pipe and Tucson.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue I will. We enjoy it here as you know and very reasonable as well. Gunsite wash down the road is nice and free BLM, as well.
DeleteLike everyone else I wondered about your chair on those stacks. Glad nothing serious happened to you.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to meet new people. Do not think we would want to be tenting there or anywhere anymore for that matter did enough of that in our younger years. Though they do have the facilities there to do it comfortably.
Stay safe...enjoy your comfy new chair just stop wiggling so much until you get more stable...:)
I thought it would be ok, it seemed pretty stable , but guess not. Not problem no dunnage done.
DeleteIt was nice to meet new campers and chat for a bit. But like you no more tent camping for us anymore,
It was fun 40 years ago but would not enjoy it now.
The chair is more stable now and will be secure by the end of the week.
How nice you met new friends and are willing to help them out this morning! Very special. Glad you didn't fall into the stairwell! Great sunrise pics and looks like a lovely place to spend some time!
ReplyDeleteI have helped a lot of people over the years set up their satellite dishes , always nice to help out That's what rv'ers do. It is a nice place that we enjoy, just a fancy boon docking area with lots of space.
DeleteSuch a cool place to be can see why the tenters like it. No more tents for us either, we like our comforts too much I guess.
ReplyDeleteIf you are going to tent in the desert this is a great spot, We too like our comforts.
DeleteGlad all is well. If you were going to be there for a longer time I would suggest some straps over the legs with some kind nuts on those four bolts for a temporary fix to hold it from sliding around during travel and use.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet folks, no matter if they are blog followers or not. However it does show that we live in a small world doesn't it?
Thanks Deb, It sits well on the 2X6s I have and does not move during travel. Just need to be raised because we don't want the castors on it.
DeleteAlways fun to meet new people.
So pretty! You are living the dream life don't know if you know it but I bet you do!
ReplyDeleteYes Dorothy we are living our dream and we love it !
DeleteWhoa! Don't need to see you wracked up by your new chair. Knowing how handy you are, you'll find a good solution so we don't need to read about "Man Killed By Recliner" in the news! :cD
ReplyDeleteLOL,, your are right . Suzie would kill me again if that happened. I will get it taken care of as soon as I can get access to some tools
