Just the usual good nights sleep and up by 5 am check emails for our package to arrive by USPS. Nothing by 6 am but is a sunny morning so a nice long walkabout to figure out what we will do.
Got an email from the tracking number and it has arrived at the Willis postoffice 6:54 am. the lady yesterday said I could come early and go to the side door. Ok I was right on that, Got there at 7:26 and we now have this package from daughter number one in Ontario made by a friend of theirs and looks like a real cool a BBQ item hope we can use it.
Below is the parcels we received from my daughter a Christmas gift made by a friend of theirs,

have not set them up yet but look very interesting |
That taken care of we can secure our coach, hook up the car and get on the road. At 9:15 we left the campground, taking some nice back roads to hop on I-10 and get a few miles in today.
On I-10 heading towards San Antonio no rest areas yet but we found Truck stop to stop and stretch our legs and enjoy making a tasty light lunch at 11:30 am.

couple of very long loads hitting the highway |
interesting water tower on this road |
pretty quiet roads today , loving it |
some nice back roads too |
Now heading to the Flying J in San Antonio the best gas prices we have not seen for a very long time. How does $1;88 a gallon sound? With our Good Sam discount of 5 cents a gallon. 65.9 cents a litre in Canada. loving these GAS prices here, sure glad we don't have a diesel coach.
diesel a buck a gallon more! |
love these prices ! |
now on I-10 heading to El Paso TX, a long drive
couple more days |
Welfare Texas! |
Then Comfort Texas |
Our plan today was the Kerr county rest area on I-10 we have stayed at a few times before, but no place for us to park. Ok plan B there is a Walmart Super Centre 15 minutes up the road , that works for us. Getting to be 4 pm and we have had enough for today.
this be our spot for tonight we are flexible |
Now to relax for a bit and whip up supper. Tonight a chicken Pot pie, quick easy and very tasty. We enjoy when we are on the road. Chicken Pot pie for the recipe you can click
HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar. Added a salad and sure did the trick tonight. As much as we enjoyed our cruise and the meals we much prefer to cook our own meals at home.
tasty yup and another meal for tomorrow |
this did the trick and so easy to make almost fool proof |
A very good travel day we enjoyed and a few more making our way across Texas to Arizona.
